I have no idea what 1% milk is... is that like 1% milk 99% cow urine, 99% free thinking, 99% diplomatic immunity? never known that.

1% fat. Whole (full fat) milk is 3-4%.

I'm a bit daft really. If I drink it on its own I keep thinking in my mind-torturous way "This came from a cows teat... this came from a cows teat..."
I take it you don't eat eggs either?

Does that turn you on?

Cow's milk is generally available in several varieties. In some countries these are:
Full cream (or "whole" in North America, about 3.25% fat)
Semi-skimmed ("reduced fat" or "low fat", about 1.5-1.8% fat)
Skimmed (about 0.1% fat)

Milk in the U.S. and Canada is sold as:
Whole varieties
2 percent (reduced fat)
1 percent (low fat)
1/2 percent (low fat)
Skim (very low fat)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk#Varieties_and_brands

So 1% is a little lower than semi-skimmed, it seems.

I gave up milk about 2 years a go, & most hard cheeses. Cant say I miss milk. I really notice if i eat something that has milk or cream in it as it bungs my head & throat up.

if you want more info on a milk free diet look here

You'd think that! but i bleedin love eggs! I get my eggs from a local farm up the road and they are beautiful... infact... I might make myself an egg muffin now

Thanks for the explanation guys! and actually come to think of it I have seen 1% before. my gran has loads of it (all gone off *pukes*) in my mums apartment in Spain. milk in a cupboard in the costa del sol is NOT a good idea. I dont care if it says Long Life they LIE!

Gekko: no! it makes me feel sick haha. I dunno. I've drunk it for years but hey thats me. When eating meat I tell myself "yum, muscles and nerves and blood vessels..." I swear my mind wants me to turn me away from some foods.

Milk/cereal in the morning... 1/2 liter before bed, ever since I was little. Started out as whole milk, but it seems we've moved down to 1-2% because of my dad.

Anyways, I'm just thinking here... Wouldn't Soy Milk qualify as unnatual? Or at least more so than milk? I mean, its processed soy beans...

One strange thing I've found...a few hours after eating pizza, I find myself craving milk like no other! I haven't met anyone who feels the same way. :)

Now you have.

And it's all about 2%. Always have, probably always will. ;)

get this--my family (5 ppl and one doesnt drink milk) go through 7-8 gal/week. yeah, we love milk :D we buy skim. it tastes almost as good as 1 or 2% but is probably better for you.

Meh. The only way to drink milk is with added Kahlua and ice :)

Oh okay... I do add a splash of skimmed milk to my muesli or Special K, but just a tiny amount. I don't like milk and I *hate* soggy cereal.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

I really, really hate drinking milk. Those little bottles of warm full cream milk that we had at school still give me the fear. I used to force down the first bit, and leave the gross creamy bit at the bottom. But evil teachers made you finish it, which would pretty much make me barf.

I haven't drunk a glass of milk since I was infant school age. If I drink anything dairyish, I get a disgusting taste in my throat for ages. As I'm asthmatic, I don't have an awful lot of dairy, because it's supposed to be mucus forming, and it doesn't make me feel great. I've always preferred my coffee black, anyway. I make a white sauce with milk on occasion, and very rarely have ice cream.

However, I am slightly obsessed with cheese. I love it, in any incarnation. That's where i start to wonder if I should eat it, because milk doesn't agree with me. I do try and eat goats cheeses when I can, and the rest of the time I just love the cheese too much to resist. :D

On the rare occasion I eat cereal I have the tiniest amount of milk ever too. And it pretty much has to be Shreddies.

Jersey milk is the best in the world. I was brought up on 'Whole Milk' which is practically yellow in colour and soooo creamy but now drink 'Fat Reduced' with 2.9% fat.

Jersey Dairy's 'Whole Milk' is 5.1% fat!

Yup. That's how I feel. If I ever eat cereal, I usually just eat it dry, like eating chips or popcorn-- but cereal. I consume dairy via ice cream, cheese, yogurt (rarely), and coffee (nonfat)!

I drink soy milk/chocolate most of the time. Only when there is a sale on regular milk is when I will have some. I like fat free and 1% milk.

My roommates can't seem to finish their cheese before mold starts to grow. I remember my mother used to scrape the small amounts of mold that would grow and then use vinegar as a cleaning solution. Hey, it works. Vinegar kills weeds you know.

I really love goat cheese. Tried introducing a little bit to my 5 year old niece on her pizza. She did not like it.

That being said, I drink Oberweis Skim milk, which for those of you who haven't had it, is like drinking 2%. Somehow they make fat free milk more than simply white water.

Must be a midwest thing - I love that Oberweis Skim - amazing. My wife HATES milk and calls it "coagulated cow piss." Needless to say we don't have it in the fridge very often. The only time she'll ever have milk is if I bake some cookies and even then it has to be the super watery non-Oberweis skim. Hates mike, loves cheese - go figure.

Grew up on whole milk and Cap'n Crunch [man, the roof of my mouth is bleeding just from the memories;) ], but moved on to 2% in my 20's. My wife is a skim drinker, and I resisted for the longest time, but I have been assimilated.
We still get 2% for my son, and every now and then I'm not paying attention and pour myself a glass. Like drinking cream!

Milk is the best ! As a child I was doing a gallon a week of the whole stuff. I cant imagine ever drinking 1 or 2% i liken it to... try drinking a glass of milk, then immediately after, with out rinsing out the glass put some water in that glass and then drink that. The water is kind of opaque and cloudy, thats what 1 and 2% are to me. Im down to about half a gallon a week now that im 22 and im grateful for all the calcium in that milk i broke my fibula playing football doc said the milk probably saved me from breaking my tibia as well. Thank you whole milk.
