For those in the Bay Area, there's a new radio ad for the Exploratorium. The theme is that it's good to have curious kids who ask questions. One of the questions in the ad asks "If you make a cow laugh, does milk come out of its nose?"

Never really thought about it...

:D

All this posting got to me. Just mixed one up, with skim though, not soy, sweet luscious kindness, I am abiding

I used to drink homo milk as a kid, then went to 2%. I could never acquire the taste for 1% skim milk, since it has the texture of plain water. I am now just trying soy milk, and so far, I'm liking it... but only in small doses.

Preferably, I don't drink milk at all.
Here's to the Crazy Ones

Yeah, it's a bit light, should of thrown some coffee cream in, but all out. I just made sure to double up on the good stuff (Kahlua, vodka). Definitely warm inside now

I used to drink (lots of) milk up until a few years ago when I stopped, for health reasons. Never liked whole (3.9% fat) milk, but used to drink the low fat (1.5%) version. Preferably ice cold. MMmmmmm.

Now I drink it very, very, rarely; Mostly together with corn flakes or whatever... Do eat lots of cheese though, both white and brown.

i'm not sure if dairly products are entriely good for people either. which is why i have basically gone to Soy. it has the calcium and health benefits without the "unnatural" aspect of being dairy. plus i find it yummy, even though i know plently of people who dislike it.

Soy milk is actually bad for you, and I know this since my health nutritionist had given me multiple studies that say so. I will try and get to the point of why its bad for you once I find those documents.

I drink "Organic Skim Milk," it tastes way better than what is currently other. Milk has to be good for you, since it one of the only forms of nutrition that we get the most calcium from. It is part a well balanced meal. ;)

On the other hand milk does very little after the age of 28, as your have already hardened to the point that it makes no difference.

That is what I remember from science class. ;)

I love milk. I usually drink a "lite" variety, though not skim milk because to we that's just water with a few granules of milk powder mixed in. I have it with Milo, make iced coffee, or just plain if I'm having it with some nice cake or biscuits. I also love it with Kahlua or Baileys mmmmm. I don't mind soy milk, but I don't really drink it that often (except for the cappuccino flavoured one.)

1%

i love milk. i drink it with almost everything. i had milk with my pizza tonight... mmmmmm :)

i drink 1% and i have ever since i can remember.

it does a body good :D

"it makes me... one percent" ...

...anyone else think of that Jane's Addiction song while reading this thread?
:p

milk has always made me feel a little funky.

cow milk is for baby cows, just like how human milk is for baby humans. (yeah, the whole hundreds of years we've been drinking cow milk speech.. I don't wanna hear it! I hear it enough at home)

Yeah, I still do some cheeses, but in moderation. I won't go totally nuts with the extra-extra cheese pizza, but I will have a slice of normal pizza.

But soy.. SO YUM! Soy nog, during december.. YUM!!
Vanilla soy milk to make french toast? DOUBLE YUM!
a big glass o' soy to go with a big bag o' almonds?
MMMMM!

I loves me the soy.

In my childhood I drank milk by the gallon. Now days the only milk I drink or consume is in my cereal once maybe twice a week. A couple years ago I tried the vanilla flavored soy milk and once in the blue moon I get a weird craving for that stuff. I only like it chilled and never with cereal. There you have it that's my little milk story.

Really, most people in the world are lactose (cow milk sugar) intolerant to some extent, that is they don't have the necessary amount of the enzyme lactase to break down the lactose in their intestines. Basically consuming cows milk and related products came from a relatively small group of northern Europeans who can properly digest the lactose. These Europeans passed it on to the majority of white Americans. In fact, a good majority of Asians (in particular), and Blacks, N. & S. American Natives and Hispanics are unable to process lactose.

edit: how that image got in there I have no idea.....

2% organic milk every morning with cereal - and a glass of milk with homemade cookies on the rare occasion I can get my wife to bake some. :D

skim milk sucks.....its just water with a touch of cream...ewww
Word. Full cream all the way. Drinking skim instead of ordinary won't help you lose weight or anything, unless you drink 2L + (Which is bad for you anyway) a day.

During first 15 years of my life I drank whole milk at an alarming rate with just about anything I ate and also alone without food. Then there was a transition to 1 and 2% fat before settling in with skim milk and now limiting it to those times when I have some cereal.
