Does he know something we don’t?

The answer to your question would be an emphatic yes he does know things you don't Thats the reason he is featured on MR every time he releases some news. He has a pretty solid track record. When I hear somebody named Maxi.ine making analysis, forecasts and predictions based upon the supply chain then maybe the tables will turn and you will have more info than Kuo.

Hilarious see everyone criticise the most reliable analyst only because they don't like what he says, and all critiques based on nothing factual obviously :)

So Kuo! When is the interminable, inexplicable, inexcusable Mac Malaise going to end? When is Apple going to take AppleSeed beta-testing seriously? When is the modular Mac Pro going to show up? When will Bluetooth 5 capable gear show up? How about the multi-device wireless charger? AirPods 2? The rejuvenation of the ailing and antiquating Safari browser? Where is Apple Pencil-iPad-Mac drawing integration? Where is the transition to a 3D GUI? The return of upgradable Macs? The end of Apple's offensive dependence on China:Criminal Nation for manufacturing and sales? And so on.

Relax.

As long as they still using intel chip....i wouldn’t say it is soon over.

99.99% of users doesn't even know about the chips.

Not much of a feature imo, although, I have never used it.

I really wished the newer phones had Touch ID.

I, too, really hate that dish I have never tried, but I am sure it tastes horrible. After more than a year of use, I can say it's a lot more comfortable than Touch ID, and I would never want to go back.

Not sure how much news worthy this is. Apple already lost its initial launch push and now left with everyday damage replacements or add lines. Maybe get help from carriers if offer appealing discounts.

It must be exhausting having these big vitriolic rants built up, ready to release on any old thread.

Get an Apple Watch and use the Breathe app once in a while. ;)

I would love to upgrade to the XR. But with 128GB and apple care it’s $950. It have the money. I even could easily pay it out of my Amex rewards points. I just think a phone is not worth 950 bucks. Stop over engineering, make them thicker, use standard components and use less premium materials. When prices are down by 300 dollar I’m interested.
Most of my friend share this sentiment for MacBooks as well as for iPhones and iMacs.
If we are representative for a large customer group then I see bad times for my apple shares. Maybe wait for a interims recovery and sell at 200......

I know it came as a bit of a shock to me that outside the USA, the world may be losing interest in Apple iPhones. Maybe I've been too isolated in my own Apple "dream world"? Well it started with the //+. And I've been all in since then.

But the ever increasing price of Apple products has me wondering what I may be looking to buy after my 2 year iPhone contract is up. As an alternative I can of course keep each device longer.

I know others have said it, but Apple needs a price leader in every category of device they make. People should be able to be able to pick and choose within each category of device and price The devices of varying cost all need to work seamlessly together. Which of course is Apple's hallmark, that is the integration of all of their devices.

What am I trying to say? For example, Apple let me buy a minimal iPhone, high end iPad Pro, and a "high end" watch. I don't mind paying the "Apple Tax" but I want choices on which Apple devices I am willing to pay it.

Still an Apple Fanboy but we need more choices.. The shine is not of the "Apple" for me. Groan now ;)

I don't believe that worst is over, especially in China where using an iPhone is now considered in some circles as traitors. That is how Huawei managed to grow its unit sales by double digit % in China while the Chinese Smartphone market shrink by nearly 20%.

Remember how iPhone got caught on in China? It was the status symbol. I am worried the damage will be long lasting.
Most consumers in China will continue to use WeChat and they don't need a $1000 iPhone or even a $600 Android smartphone to use that app. Apple's iPhone business in China is totally ruined. There will be very few consumers buying iPhones or any other Apple products because they surely hate POTUS for screwing them over.

Apple is done for in China and any recovery is unlikely. Kuo is wrong as most analysts believe there's much more worse to come with declining iPhone sales. Apple should have acquired a cloud business or any other high-growth business to stabilize their stagnant revenue stream. The iPhone's best days are behind it. There's nothing Apple can do to increase its value enough for consumers to pay such high prices. I don't believe the Chinese look up to Apple anymore and many would rather stay loyal to their own domestic-brand Android smartphones. Also, Apple won't be able to sell any iPhones to Indian consumers, which is really a bummer. How crappy Apple is as a company that can't even hold onto 1% market share in such a huge country.

It's like OSX vs Windows all over again but this time it's even worse. Android totally dominates the global smartphone market and Apple is only doing things to make it worse. Not even one reasonably priced iPhone is being offered to those poverty-class consumers.

As long as Apple continues to depend on iPhone sales, Apple shareholders are going to suffer miserably while all the other major tech companies show major share price gains. Tim Cook doesn't seem to get it. Apple's iPhone business is finished in two of the largest countries in the world. As a long-term Apple shareholder, I'm really disappointed in Apple not being able to see iPhone sales hitting a wall a year ago. They would need to be blind to miss something that obvious. And then jacking up iPhone prices... OMG! Insanity.

I still don't understand why those market analytics and stock analytics ignoring obvious facts. Apple became super expensive, differences between old devices and new devices are smaller and smaller, quality went down. Customers are the ones who buy the devices and decide who gets the money.

People don't like data, but the worst was in China. Other markets did quite well. In fact, the US, Canada, Netherlands, Korea, Italy, Germany, etc all hit records in Q12019.

Other companies have since reported weakness in China as well (Intel, Samsung). Apple was in front of this and is working on fixing the issues in China.

Apple is going to report record EPS for Q12019 and will execute in FY2019, as usual. I believe 160M iPhone sales in 2019 is totally ridiculous. They did 217M last year, so unit sales just are not going to drop that quickly. That would indicate a 26% decline in iPhone sales.

Remember, they are going to post $84B in sales in 90 days versus $88B last year, a 5% impcat. A significant drop in iPhone sales would have an even larger impact, more like the 26% above.

Nice speculation. How about some facts to back that up?

The majority of people have no clue what kind of chip is in their iPhone.
You must be new to apple products. That’s okay

You're not expected to know these things, but as much as Apple employees are flying over to China on a monthly basis, they should definitely know how Chinese consumers feel. Apple should never have missed the WeChat clues. What Chinese consumer needs to pay hundreds of dollars for a smartphone to run WeChat? Almost none. They'd be just throwing away their money. If I can do everything I need with a Ford Focus, I'm not going to buy a Porsche Carrera GT unless I'm an auto enthusiast. Apple obviously doesn't understand the mind of the average consumer.

Apple seems to always ignore the obvious. My opinion is that any company who watches their market share shrink and doesn't do anything about it, is missing the obvious. I'm certain Apple is doing well as a company and keeping their accounting books in the black. It's just that big investors hate companies that keep losing market share. They get all nervous and such and that really hurts loyal shareholders. I'm just aggravated because I think Apple should have seen it coming and didn't do anything to create an additional revenue stream before things got this bad. Apple has the spare cash to be proactive with things like that. But, of course, Apple doesn't like to acquire large companies.

That’s because Apple serves the premium end of the market, which is driven more by value rather than price.

People claiming that a small price cut can make a big difference in terms of sales show a fundamental misunderstanding of how these premium markets work.

There are already many, many ways how customers can get a cheaper/more accessible iPhone. The 7 and 8 are still brilliant phones for a good price. Carrier and retailer promotions. Trade-in offers. Installment plans. Credit cards. Grey market. Resellers still going through the stock of X's. But none of this can really compete with the smartphone market's maturity. The supply of premium users is drying up while our phones last longer. And it will be worse and worse. The Xr with A12 is a power-house and will likely run silky-smooth for as long as it supports iOS updates.

The solution to iPhone growth is not found in cheaper pricing or more/better features, but in new markets. Alternatively, conquer new markets which can cannibalise smartphones, such as wearables.

Really, it’s the people here who need to get over their own obsession with Apple product pricing. It wasn’t the main problem then, and it’s not the main issue now.

Did this person ever got anything right?

Actually, Kuo has a _very_ lengthy history with Apple of making predictions that are accurate, he has had some incorrect predictions, but there is a reason why he is trusted over most other analysts/insiders.

Those phones exist. They're called Android phones. Lots of companies make them. They use cheap parts, sell cheap, break often, and scrape your data because the maker needs a revenue stream and when it's not the hardware, it's your data.

MANY of their issues would be solved by lower the prices.

That won’t happen because Cook and Apple will be admitting to a mistake if they do so. Their recent history has shown they don’t admit to mistakes as evident by the iPads that are bent.

These guys forgot people were upgrading every year because it was affordable. Not because they needed it but because they wanted it and it was affordable.

Now people want it but it isn’t affordable so they upgrade only when they have too because the cost isn’t worth it.

Back then I paid a few hundred bucks.

Now it’s $1300. Get real. And don’t mention the stupid price of XR being $750.

I’m not downgrading my phone in GB or quality because of their crazy prices.

It’s simple math...iPhone XS at $800 and I’d upgrade every 2 years. That’s $1600.
iPhone XS at $1300 and I’ll uograde every 4 years.

In 4 years they can make $3200 instead they choose to make $1300. That’s fine with me.
