I sincerely hope that 7 is more than just some new icons and flatter UI.
I doubt they would bother releasing a new iOS version just to tweak the interface; even if it's not a huge update it's bound to have other refinements. Personally I'm hoping for a new widget type system, perhaps slotting in in place of rows of icon on your home-screen.

Ideally not quite in the same style as Android, where widgets can really hurt your battery life if you're not careful, but slick enough that any resource-saving is invisible to the user who just gets handy info as they need it.

I think "world's most advanced operating system" tag line is reserved for OS X.

Nope.

The little grey dots remind me of hardware parts on the Mac Pro and generally gives it a hardware vibe. I think Jony Ive is doing a pretty good job on merging the software with his iconic Dieter Rams-inspired designs.

I personally wish for a typeface change to something slimmer than in that app. I like the one used both in the "WWDC" and "7" and think there's still hope for that. :)

I think the typeface can still change. They were probably able to use the new graphical elements but had to stick with the system core font and graphics for the notifications badge for instance.

OMG! Apple is FINALLY releasing the iTrash! They are about to hang the ad for it! :D
