Loved the demo of this game but since my wife got it for me as a Christmas gift, I won't be playing it until well after you lot have played it and kicked it to the curb.:p

That's okay, LBP is kind of glued to my PS3 disk drive anyway.

I ended up sending it back to Gamefly and not finishing it. Dealing with the cops and what not wasn't worth the effort to me anymore, there's plenty of other stuff to play that I get more enjoyment out of.

Surprisingly though it didn't give me any motion sickness, I was worried more about it with this game than anything. I'll at times get it with some first person shooters but didn't even think about it with Mirror's Edge.

Yahtzee just reviewed it:

Pretty damn funny - one his better ones, I'd say! :D

That review was hilarious, course then I listened to his GOW2 video review and it I suspect all of his reviews have the same tone. Anyway I just played the Mirror's Edge demo and I kind of liked it. But after reading several reviews, now I'm not so sure although I am sure it's not worth $60. I'll have to go troll ebay and see how cheap it's running. Or as the reviewer mentioned, just play through the demo several times and you'll have experienced it all.

Once you start running there seems to be impulsive split sec decision moments where you might frequently end up launching yourself into oblivion. :)

Any replay value at all? I skipped through most of the replies, anyone here who bought the game and still loved it at the end?

I can see there being replay value if you're really into speed trials. Getting really good at this game would be fun to do and watch...bad thing is you get moving so fast you make some stupid mistakes over and over and over and I get uber frustrated...to the point of almost throwing controller through the TV.

Hate minor things that the character "can't" do suddenly to force you to do it their way...really lame when they do that...but it is kind of fun. I almost enjoy doing this more in Prince of Persia though...

Frustration rocks. :D This game hasn't got on my nerves yet. I'm only playing on normal, as it was my only option, so when I play, my pace really hasn't been hampered by redos.

I find myself looking for any avenue possible to avoid fighting the cops, and sometimes I get lucky.

Holy thread resurrection.....

Saw this retailing at 15 Sterling last week when I was in the UK.... Good buy for that price.

I got really frustrated at times, and that was just during training! I might still get it. I'm thinking you get yourself to this point where you can run flawlessly making incredible twisty, jumpy, death defying leaps when really your just a couch potatoe. But you'll sure have a good feeling about the eye/hand coordination accomplishment. :D
Thanks for the input.

I rented it from Gamefly too... I got frustrated to the point that I was reluctant to finish it. But since I was over halfway through already, as a matter of principle (and because it's a short game) I made myself finish it. The presentation was fantastic but there were lots of moments that enraged me.

*cough* MOUSE input *cough*
I think if I had played the PC version it would have been a fair bit better. I'm just not a fan of dual-analogue FPS controls and they certainly added to the frustration at times. But, I couldn't rent the PC version. =/

Yeah, no rentals does suck, especially when some games aren't worth their asking price. There's also the LAME EA Download Manager that's installed with their games now days. Anyways, I just waited for the price to drop into the thirty range since they made me wait. If it had been released with in the same time period as the others, I would have paid full price.
