Since upgrading to iPhone 12 Pro, I’ve not received random text messages in my group texts. Only have had this issue since I changed phones. My wife is in the same group texts so that’s how I know I’m not receiving the messages. She has an iPhone XS. Anyone else having this issue? I’m with T-Mobile.

A while back I had this issue. The cause for me was my was only my phone number was set as send and receive but not my iCloud, as well. So if a sender had me in their contacts by my email only I wouldn’t receive it. I would check the message settings to make sure you have both your phone number and iCloud marked as send and receive. Or if it was configured differently before make sure it’s the same.

Note this was a group chat will all iPhone users.

Text messages or iMessage? If SMS, complain to your carrier. It probably won't matter much if you do, as no carrier guarantees delivery of SMS messages.

This is happening to my wife and I as well after upgrading to the IPhone 12 pro. I missed a group message on an sms and only knew about it because someone like it. We are on AT&T, what carrier are you on?

T-Mobile

This was happening to me. Try turning off iMessage In message settings. Then reboot the phone. Once it’s back up, then log back in to iMessage. Seems to have worked, fingers crossed. It was happening on SMS group messages only. I’m on Verizon.

I’ve tried it. Still missing random messages

Today I am seeing another strange issue, maybe related to this...all of my "green bubble" group messages say "outgoing" on top of the conversation where it normally says "6 people". Never saw this before...

I had this issue on my 12 Pro on AT&T for SMS from one specific person (not others with Android, strangely enough). I reboot the phone and *seems* to have remedied the issue...hopefully.

My wife is also having the same issue when upgrading from 11pro to 12pro. She seems to be having an issue receiving texts from non-Apple phones. I've rebooted and problem persists. Seems to be impacting existing group chats. Very strange.

So what worked for me was to sign out of iCloud and iMessage. Reboot. Sign back into iCloud and iMessage, reboot, go to messages and make sure phone number and iCloud is shown for receiving messages. I also went to cellular and made sure data roaming was on. Went back to settings> messages and enable sms if iCloud is unavailable. Deleted the group message I was apart of and resend the messages. Takes a little bit for all of the settings to propagate.

I had something weird happen this morning. Received a text on my Apple Watch, but not on my phone. I did see it on my ipad though. I replied back to the text on the phone, then got a text back, which was received normally (I.e., I could see it on watch and phone). I don’t know if it was just a weird glitch or some other problem.

Tried this and not exactly sure if it fixed the issue. I’ll keep monitoring

After working since Saturday, I was missing group green bubble messages again tonight. I signed out of iMessage, rebooted and logged back in and they started working again. Something weird is going on. Tonight I also turned off 5G just to see if that makes any difference because everything was fine until I upgraded to the 12.

Doesn’t matter.. sounds like a software issue, not hardware. Not iPhone 12’s fault. Plenty of other factors go into you switching phones outside of hardware.
While I agree that it is a software issue, the common denominator seems to be upgrading to the iPhone 12 Pro. I'm experiencing the same issue. I just submitted feedback to Apple.

Correct, also upgraded to the regular 12. I am having the same issues and have spent hours with support with no resolution yet.

Same issue here, as far as I can tell it’s only non-iMessage group chats. I have the 12 Pro on Verizon, and didn’t have this issue until activating it. Of course Verizon wanted to go through all the iMessage troubleshooting, even though it’s not iMessages that are the issue. 🙄
