Same here. Happened to me for the first time. Group conversation and some of the messages being sent to me got through while others did not. The conversation made no sense after awhile as not all of them came through. One person sent multiple texts in the conversation, and only half made it through. Ended up deleting all my texts as some where a continuation from group conversation on my 11 Pro. After deleting every text, and a network reset, I am now getting all texts. How long that will last, I dont know. All the others in the group text have android phones.

Great. It’s crazy, it seemed to be working fine yesterday and then today I was missing a bunch of messages again. Will report back tomorrow afternoon after my call with Apple. Also 14.2 should be out very soon so I guess we will see of that fixes anything.

While I agree that it is a software issue, the common denominator seems to be upgrading to the iPhone 12 Pro. I'm experiencing the same issue. I just submitted feedback to Apple.
I downloaded ios14 to my X weeks ago and have had nothing but issues with group messages When someone has android. I upgraded to the iPhone 12pro and still have the same issue. It’s software not hardware

One observation I have with this common issue across my two phones and two carriers is that all seems fine after doing something like a reboot and then at some point, the missing texts start again. Until there is a known fix, perhaps it is good to reboot at least once/day to minimize the missed texts.

rebooting does nothing for me - problem persists

also, can't send photos to android users

Just got off the phone with my scheduled Apple follow up call. A waste of time. The senior advisor wants me to wipe the phone and start as new. I refuse. Otherwise he wants me to call Verizon and get a ticket #. I said its across all carriers. He said they need a ticket number to continue the investigation. I am at my wits end with this one.

You may want to try the Messages+ app for Verizon As a workaround for now. I downloaded the T-Mobile equivalent and my messages seem to be coming through (so far).

I accessed that today and all my missing messages come through there, so far. More evidence its not a carrier issue. I wonder if 14.2 will fix anything?

☝🏻 This guy (or girl) is the real MVP! Now I’m seeing all the messages I’ve missed for the past week and a half! I’m surprised Verizon didn’t ask me to try this! When Apple calls me back Wednesday though, I’ll be sure to point out that this works, it’s just related to iOS/iPhone 12.

Having issues sending photos (MMS) to androids at times too. But yes, having this issue of missing group texts on only one of our iPhone 12 Pros on AT&T. Co-worker is complaining about it on her iphone 12 Pro on Verizon. This needs to be fixed! Tried deleting long/old texts, resetting network connections, MMS on/off, etc.

Im holding out hope that 14.2 will fix it. Is anyone here on the beta with any issues?
I read in another thread/forum that someone with 14.2 beta was still experiencing this issue. There is a fairly large and very active thread in the Apple Support forums. However, no additional information from that thread aside from the fact that it affirms that this is happening across multiple carriers and also multiple phones (including older iPhones). The latter would seem to imply that this is OS or carrier related and not hardware related.

My opinion is that those of us that upgraded to the new iPhone 12 made the issue more apparent, but I have no idea what the fix is or who needs to fix it. All I know is that I am losing texts and this needs to end!

I had this issue for the first couple of days with the new iPhone 12 Pro. Interestingly, I would get the messages on my Apple watch but would not appear on the phone. I found some article that suggested you turn off iMessage, reboot both iPhone and watch (if applicable), turn off phone, turn off watch. Start phone and turn on iMessage. Turn on watch. I followed those steps and have had no issues since.

Just to provide an update:

- I spoke to an Apple senior advisor again. He insisted they need a carrier trouble ticket to proceed with the investigation.
- I contacted Verizon. They sent "refresh signals" to my phone, and asked me to send a group text, and I received responses. I asked for a ticket number anyway and they provided one.
- I sent the trouble ticket # to the Apple advisor. We have another follow up call on Friday.

Just to think of all of the hours I am putting into this issue that the carriers and Apple should resolve together.

I put my SIM in a Pixel 3 and none of the issues exist on that device like they do on my iPhone 11 Pro. Sure seems like an iOS issue.

Apple senior advisor called me back yesterday to say they received the trouble ticket and now the Apple engineers can contact Verizon. We have another follow up tomorrow afternoon and he said he may need to collect some more logs from my phone.
