Congrats. You beat a team with half the payroll and none of the steroids.

id beg to differ i think Pedro was some one who has done it i mean look at how great he was in the early late 90s than just suddleny broke down once the steriod stuff hits.

Yep that's right and the Phillies had a better lineup. The Yankees had more heart. I guess all that's left is for Philly to burn their town to the ground. Nice try though! :p

THE YANKEES WIN!!! THEEEEEEE YANKEES WIIIIIIIIN!!!!

;) no problem str1f3.......and u yankees deserved it......in a way..............

and robo.......i still have not forgotten about u......

maybe next year....

anyways.............

WHERE CAN I FIND THE 2010 MLB SEASON THREAD?!:p

well after watching both the nlcs and alcs, i think we can all say that the yankees are quite possibly one of the worst teams ive ever seen enter the WS. This series isn't even gonna be close. Phils in 5 cuz hamels screws up game 2. suck on that, white stains.

NYs pitching is shaky at best, CC is gonna get hit outta the game by the 3rd inning. The middle of NYs batting line up is highly questionable... nobody I'd want on my team honestly, and to cap it all off, the defense struggles to get outs. I'm not sure how they made it this far.

1) ESPN has long since been known for unreliable statistics. so this point is moot.

2) CC may have won the ALCS MVP, but that means nothing to me. Phillies will hit him all day every day.

3) Rodriguez who? I think you're gonna need a lot more than a mexican guy to help u win.

4) If there's anything I learned from my 2 years of Statistics classes, is that stats mean NOTHING!!!

5) Well if the Yankees won that many games, that can only speak to one thing. The AL's lack of good teams.

i don't know why everybodys gettin all mad. nobody in the nation wanted to see the yankees in the world series. theyre just gonna lose quickly and horribly. this is slated to be the lowest rated world series ever, even worse than last year. so thanks yanks, for taking the fall classic and forcing people to watch the beginning of the nba season.

the WS isnt even worth arguing about. the Phillies are sooo much better than the Yankees. It's gonna be like the Harlem Globetrotters (Phils) vs. that green team (Yanks). Ryan Howard's gonna get an RBI for every pitch thrown to him. A-Rod's gonna strike out repeatedly and start crying in the dugout next to CC who couldn't make it through 2/3 of the first inning.

how could anybody take you seriously?! psh, shows how much you know about the game.

my statements are based on hard facts. u nerds dont know anything about baseball, and the things u say prove it.

the yankees were GOD AWFUL tonight. just like i thought. nice to see the faithful ny fans leaving the stadium in the 8th inning. stay classy!

haha 2 runs is all that dem yanks can muster? thats not good news..... see u back in philly losers!!!!
Where did you go fish, I think you have something to say to us?:p:cool::D

Which I just started. :p

Matsui is MVP. :D

LOL, the celebration hasn't finished yet and no one has declared for free agency. Tonight is the Yankees night.

Jeter says : It's back here where it belongs. MacNut you are right. WOHOO!

Mariano says he will stay for another five years. If there is a God I hope that's true. Right now I've got to make preparations for the parade. I've got two sisters and I'm trying to raise them right: AS YANKEE FANS!!! YEAH I SAID IT.

AHH It feels sooo good for the trophy to be back in the big house!

I dont know if anyone else noticed this, but 27 is the perfect baseball number
27 outs in a game
9 innings
3 outs

It truly is perfect, and of course its made better by the fact that the YANKEES HAVE 27 RINGS!!!!!

Well I guess people will have to make a reason for why we win our 28th next year!!!

Mariano can pitch until he's 60 and still be dominant. It so funny how the Phillies were so baffled by him…because everyone else is, LOL!!!

Oh yeah nice post on fish (the man with no knowledge who can't spell) MacNut.

Nice try 63dot!

THE YANKEES WIN!!! THEEEEEEE YANKEES WIIIIIIIIN!!!!

Congrats to your team. You were the best team this season and postseason and there's no doubt in my mind you will be in the playoffs next year. 27 titles, that's just plain hard to comprehend. Enjoy your win, you deserve it.

Now onto football. Go SF Niners

LOL, who knows if we were the best team but we won the title. I'll always take that over who is the best team.

It's kind of funny that you're a 49er fan because I'm a Cowboys fan (before they won Super Bowls in the 90s & for other reasons). Hopefully, the 9ers have those same great matchups that they had with the Cowboys.

Out of many I disagreed with, I respect your knowledge even though I'm younger than you. I've just stopped paying attention to other sports rather than baseball in the past few years. Originally, the 2004 baseball season turned me off to sports altogether. I'm sure you can understand. It was like a dagger in my heart.

WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!

Yankees win #27 and thats all that matters. The haters will always hate, no matter what.

Glad Matsui finally got a championship, at the last year of his contract. Glad A-Rod finally had some post-season success and has "earned his pinstripes". Glad for Sabathia, Burnett and Tex...wow, talk about early success!

I'm getting both congrats and hate from my FB friends...and I'm loving both!

destiNY !!!

All kidding aside, Congrats to the Yanks for winning the World Series. Timely pitching and CLUTCH hitting will get you there every time. Enjoy the ride and see ya next year.

Peace

By the way, remember Jimmy Rollins saying that the Phillies will win in five games? Well, last night he did it again:

http://bit.ly/4GemYe

Between Ryan Howard essentially disappearing from being effective and the often-iffy Phillies pitching, if it weren't for Chase Utley the Yankees would have blown out the Phillies in a sweep. Sheesh.

I think it will be a long time before the 49ers will be a threat to the Cowboys. Romo alone is in the all time top 6 QBs in passer rating, far above Aikman and Staubach, and if the rest of the team keeps up, Dallas will have many trips to the postseason.

The 49ers, on the other hand, are rebuilding, yet improving.

My guess is that by the time the Cowboys have their run of glory in football's postseason, and maybe even a dynasty, the 49ers will just be entering just getting a wild card. I think in the decade to come, the Cowboys and 49ers won't be a rivalry as their peaks will miss each other by a decade or more.

There was nothing greater than when the 49ers and Dallas both peaked from 1992-1996. Those were great times as Bay Area football fans had somebody to despise. That was until the new force, with a young Brett Favre came in and was the "force" in the NFC, followed by Warner and the Rams. I thought Green Bay or the Rams would get three Super Bowl wins, each from the mid-90s to the mid-2000s.

I still think Favre and Warner have another championship in them, of course not in GB or Rams' uniforms.

But if Romo keeps up his play, and keeps that skill into his later career, he has a legitimate shot at surpassing Steve Young's passer rating of 96. Both Manning and Brady could techinically finish out their careers at 95s and be tied for second best rating, all-time, if they quit in their primes. As for Eli (the other Manning), he can win several Super Bowls before he retires, but he will never have a passer rating close to those guys. ;)

I think if the Cowboys get a super star running back like #22 E. Smith, then they can dominate the NFC the way they did in their '90s dynasty.

The two dynasties of the 2000s were the Steelers and the Patriots who shared that decade, but they were not as dominant and downright scary as the 90s Cowboys who dismantled the great Bills, 80s Niners who smashed the Broncos by 45 points in their last 80s Super Bowl, or 70s Steelers with their amazing Steel Curtain. I would say the Patriots didn't smash their Super Bowl opponents, but just squeaked by. And as for today's Steelers, they do have a Steel Curtain of their own, yet not as thick or as heavy as their '70s counterpart who had a way of stopping, injuring, and hospitalizing their opponents.

These were great times, and I look forward to an amazing football season as different teams seem to be leading the league for contention. There will always be a question mark in my head as to who goes to the Super Bowl or who is even considered probably, but in the 2009 baseball season, especially late, there was no question that the Yankees had a great shot at the big prize. I suspect by now, there are some boys in blue still hung over. And I don't think A-Rod will wake up until tomorrow. ;)
