The Yankees are 26 games over .500 after only their 58th games. Last year, they never even reached 26 games over .500. In 2019, they didn't reach that mark until their 82nd game and that team had 103 wins.

Hmm. Red sox go ahead 6-5 in the top of the ninth, and their closer gives up two runs to allow the other team to walk it off 6-7. Hilarious.

White Sox should go after Joe Maddon. Tony LaRussa is out of touch, defending bad decisions. Trouble is, Reinsdorf usually waits until the off season to change managers, after the team implodes. It was a mistake to try to correct his self-perceived mistake in letting LaRussa go before.

prolly so...?

I'm not sure about Maddon though, he may also be past his sell date.

Giants swept LA this weekend. After what happened on Thursday, I was absolutely shocked they held on. The game last night and then the late innings today were so exhausting. Felt like a playoff atmosphere.

Those three teams have the highest payrolls in the league. Anything else would be disappointing (ask Joe Girardi).
To be fair, there's a lot of waste with the Yankees payroll. $10 million is going to Joey Gallo. Another $10 million is going to Aaron Hicks. $14 million to Zack Britton, who is injured, and $18 million to Chapman, who sucks and is injured.

The difference makers this year have been people like Nestor Cortes, Jose Trevino, Clay Holmes, Jordan Montgomery, who are all making modest salaries

We won our 4th in a row on 5 hits, 9 BB, 1 error, and with 14 LOB.

phew...

We beat a KC team that is 20 games under .500.

The Yankees are winning so much it's almost getting boring. I miss the anxiety I would get from the offense going silent after giving up a lead. I miss the near heart attacks I would get from Aroldis Chapman walking the bases loaded and blowing the save. It gave the season character. Now every game is so predictable.

Kidding aside, even I'm surprised the Yankees haven't come down to earth yet. I know it's coming. This team is good, but I don't think they're 1998 good.
