It's like Jeter. You can hate the team, but respect the player and what they mean for the game.
I am obviously a huge Red Sox hater, but can respect the players like Pedroia.
I'm somewhat ashamed to admit it, but I thought it was a long shot, too. You'd think I'd know better than to count him out, having watched him all those years in STL.
Same, I thought it was an unattainable goal, even last month, it seemed too far away. I'm really happy for him, he had some gas left in the tank after all
I know you were being facetious but it's a game fixing thing.
I'd love to see him get there too but not that way.

If Stanton wasn't struggling right now, Judge would get challenged instead of walked to load the bases like he did last night. Like he was in the first half of the season because walking Judge would have meant facing Stanton and he at the time was only a few HR's behind Judge.
