The Yankees lead should be pretty safe. 6 games ahead with 19 games left. Even if they get swept by the Blue Jays, the Blue Jays still have to face the Rays 4 more times.
So are the Cubs! This is our year, I can feel it. World Series Champs for the fourth time this year! It's still mathematically possible. I love math!!The Rockies are still in it? Amazing!
Well the post season is getting a little clearer... with the following teams now officially out of the playoffs:
Detroit
Oakland
Miami
Washington (yeah!!!)
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
So far, the Dodgers are the only ones who have clinched a playoff birth.
Well they were supposed to come in 4th place before the season started, so they clearly overperformed. But 100 wins is still very doable.A few months ago, there was talk of the Yankees winning the most games ever. Now they will be lucky to win 100.
Make that .002.Judge is only .006 away from a triple crown
Judge is only .006 away from a triple crown
Goldschmidt has a little more of an uphill climb. 4 home runs behind and 9 points behind in average. Can he close the gap on one of those? Maybe. But unlikely both.Paul Goldschmidt is also chasing the Triple Crown in the NL. I'm rooting for both of them to do it. I doubt there's ever been one in both leagues for the same season.
1933 -- Jimmie Foxx in the AL and Chuck Klein in the NL. According to baseball-reference.comPaul Goldschmidt is also chasing the Triple Crown in the NL. I'm rooting for both of them to do it. I doubt there's ever been one in both leagues for the same season.
Yeah, I looked that up after I posted. It's less likely than it was looking in early September. I doubt that he can do it.Goldschmidt has a little more of an uphill climb. 4 home runs behind and 9 points behind in average. Can he close the gap on one of those? Maybe. But unlikely both.
Agreed. As much as this Cardinals fan appreciates Goldy, I would be surprised if he manages the Triple Crown.Goldschmidt has a little more of an uphill climb. 4 home runs behind and 9 points behind in average. Can he close the gap on one of those? Maybe. But unlikely both.

Adding to the list...
Kansas City is now out also...
No other teams as of yet have clinched a playoff birth outside of the Dodgers.
Albert Pujols rose to the occasion last night to reach 700. As a Cardinals fan who got to enjoy his first ten years live at Busch, it has been a privilege to watch him play. A no-doubt first-ballot HOFer for sure.
noCan a pitcher please become a baseball fan and groove a pitch to Judge and let him hit 61 and 62 at home?
No one remembers/cares who gave it up.
Thanks
