I disagree. Dodgers/Yankees would eb an epic World Series. Cleveland/San Diego? Bleah.

Dodgers choking too. It just goes to show, the regular season is meaningless. Also, all playoffs should be 7 games. 5 games is too easy for a worse team to upset a better one. They used to be 9 game series long ago.

Imagine if the NFL had it so you could only play your best QB every 4 or 5 games. That's sort of like what baseballl is. Pitching is everything.

Yes, but the regular season is played with 5-man rotations, and your position at the end of the season, based on which you got into the post season, is because of that rotation. So a 5 game series seems pretty representative to me. As it is, with travel days and short rest a team may play its best pitcher more than once.

Usually teams grow through the postseason, and I think if they got to the WS, a Cleveland/San Diego matchup might turn out to be pretty good. Bring on the new talent. The size of the market doesn’t necessarily dictate the quality of the baseball, if the team makes deals which don’t leverage the money properly.

Where would this Yankees team be without Aaron Judge?

His WAR this year is 10.6 so presumeably 10 games worse off, and in second place in the AL east behind the Toronto Blue Jays. They’d have made the postseason on a wildcard spot.

Some classic moments last night. The Padres knocking out the Dodgers, an inside-the-park home run, an 18-inning nailbiter between the Mariners and the Astros, and a walk-off comeback win for Cleveland against the Yankees to send them 2-1 up in the series. Good stuff.

Would like to see a Guardians v Padres WS, be great if they knocked out the Yankees / Dodgers.
I'd like to see teams that have never won the WS get a title, but as long as Machado is on one of those teams, I'm fine with making them wait. Go Dodgers!

Not much of a chance for Seattle this year I'm afraid.

Well, a bodger vs spankee WS would have been "a classic" match up but I prefer some new blood in there.

I'd love to see CLE or SD finally win one, in CLE's case win one again...

Glad to see the Dodgers chokes and rooting for the Guardians (Even though I'm a Tigers fan) as I can't stand the Yankees. I like to see the Padres and Astros (Only because of JV) in the WS with the Padres winning the WS, plus it would be a bonus seeing Justin Verlander choke in the WS. JV really isn't a very good playoff picture for some strange reason. There's talk about bring back JV to the Tigers for one game so he can retire a Tiger, but I hope that doesn't happen as it irritates me when professional athletes act so phony and the rainy day fans go Ga-ga over it.

I am so glad the Dodgers chocked on a big fat one and have been eliminated! Love it!

Yankees and that cheating team from Houston! Come on Yankees!!!!!

On the other side pulling for San Diego.

In the WS... Yankees vs. .....

The only team that would not be a surprise is HOU. But really, because of Dusty Baker being their manager, they actually would surprise me a little bit I guess.

I have such mixed feelings about Dusty Baker. He's a good guy and his career deserves a ring to cap it off, but I'm still bitter about his bullpen mismanagement in 2002 that cost him and the Giants a World Series. I couldn't be happy if the Astros won it all, but I would be pleased for Dusty.

I'm actually kind of rooting for the Yankees because it would be great for Aaron Judge to cap off his historic season with a World Series win, and our good friends' 9 year old son is a huuuuuuge Yankees fan. I don't want to see the lad have to wait as long for his team to win a World Series as I did!

The Padres are becoming the Manchester City of baseball with their runaway spending. I'm... oddly neutral about the Phillies. A liked them somewhat during the Mike Schmidt / Steve Carlton years, but wasn't a big fan of their 2008–2011 teams, and now have really no opinion, aside from enjoying Zack Wheeler pitching well on the big stage.

My hatred of the Yankees is at odds with my hatred of the Houston Cheaters (aside from Dusty).
Well, I assume you hate one team because they win a lot, and the other team because they currently have players on the team that were caught cheating. When you put it that way, it makes it pretty easy to pick who to root for.

I'm a Yankees fan, just trying to put myself into the shoes of an unbiased baseball fan.

Same. Based on that I can't see him winning a WS...

And Bochy has signed on to manage the Texas Rangers for 3 years...
