WOW... I wonder if they have the Jerry Jones attitude... that the Team itself will win, and the coach has nothing to do with it. That is not only pathetic, but insulting to the highest degree.
Who knew the Astro's front office was that dysfunctional.
I wonder how much of a contract Aaron Jones is going get. I can't imagine anyone but the yankees offering him such a huge contract. What I mean by that is, say if Philly offers him a mammoth contract, I'm pretty sure the Yankees will get wind of the price tag and will counter offer an even higher contract
They can't afford to lose him, not just for his production but he's the face of the Yankees.
SF said no offer is too much for them. They didn't mention Judge, but...they were talking about Judge. Dodgers have money too, but I don't think they will go for it.
The available pool of teams is a lot smaller then what people realize.

They didn't pay him before, so I'm not convinced they will pay him cray cray money now.
They might not have put out their best offer before given he was talking about testing the market. On the other hand, you could be right, that Steinbrenner is just blowing hot air and isn't going to give up what it takes to keep him.
They had a chance to lock up prior the season starting, and its now going to cost them even more. He had one of the best seasons ever and because of that his price went up

Because they didn't want to "set the market" or overpay for him that soon as he had expressed interest in going to free agency. That's my thinking, anyway.
Apparently Judge is meeting with the Giants today, for all you Giants fans. They have both the money and desire, so it will be interesting to see if anything comes of it.

I think he's just just dipping his toe in the market and trying to show the yankees there's other interested parties. Regardless of his worth, if there's a perception that no one is willing to pay what he wants then the yankees can keep low balling him (if you consider hundreds of millions a low ball offer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
That's possible. More interest would drive up the price, for sure. Either way, he'll get paid a ridiculous amount of money by my lowly standards!
I know that Scott Boras is not Judge's agent, but I mention him, because he's known to drive up the price, creating bidding wars and just overall making the home team as uncomfortable as possible just so someone over pays
Yeah, Boras is a shark, but I have to give him credit for being one of the best at his job!
Once I realized its really billionaires vs. millionaires, I stopped caring. Hey if his games gives a few more million in a players pocket, good for him. I won't feel sorry for the billionaire owners.
That's exactly how I feel about it. As long as they put an entertaining product on the field, they can blow their money/receive their money any way they want.
Boras can create a bidding war by simply showing up. Teams will bid against themselves. 😂
