Agreed, the Cubs are hanging tough... didn't expect the Brewers to have this much trouble with them.
The Brewers have been punching above their weight all season. They don't have one "certified" superstar, and did not have even one position player named to the All-Star team. One starting pitcher (Peralta) and one reliever (Megill, a former Cub) were originally selected, and when the Cubs' Matthew Boyd was ruled out because of where he came up in the rotation, the rookie Misiorowski was given the spot. As I mentioned before, the Cubs won the season series (7-6) with the Brewers, so they were pretty even. Kyle Tucker hit several balls to the outfield in the first four games of the NLDS, which is a vast improvement over grounding to first base when he didn't strike out after the break. It could be a very interesting Game 5.

I expect them to wilt in the preseason anyway.

Is Misiorowski going to pitch Friday?

MLB can't be too excited about the possiblility of only one big market team...

I do find it intriguing that the two 1976 expansion teams are in the ALCS.

Is Toronto considered "big market"?
Yes, if the criterion is population. Toronto used to be (maybe still is) the 4th largest city in North America. Media market has another definition.

My Cubs are done for this year. :(

One or two Brewers players should get some recognition next season if they continue to produce wins.

They gotta get past this round...

Wasn’t expecting the Mariners to take the first two games of the ALCS away from home… all they have to do to go through is win 2-out-of-3 at home.

we would reveal to tthe MLB world in the 1980's that Montréal had the 5th largest demographic in N America.
therefore this might be accurate.

Sick and tired of all these National League teams lying down for the Dodgers with barely a whimper.
me too....
until is see how better they are as they deserve a title this year.
they play fundemantal sound baseball.

hey.... other major cities should do what they do, get players who hit a double
without waving like a teenaged cheerleader to the bench
then get picked of at second like the NYmets did this year.

yes the Brewers/Mariners would be fun to watch just for freashness and nonstalgia,
but the Dodgers deserve and should play and win in the next round

Well… a Dodgers v Mariners WS would tell everyone who to cheer for. But I have to say, Yamamoto looked lights-out good pitching the complete game for the Dodgers win.

I thought that was Steve Carlton or Ron Gudry heck even Steve Rodgers pitichng.
Then again, i went to japan in 1980 and every young pitcher was like Yamamoto, heat, twists and focus!

ahhhh... Had a little trouble understanding that one ...basically you're a bodger fan...?

There's at least one writer who sees a Dodger triumph helping to advance the case for the institution of a salary cap.
