I know, but there is still half a season to go, they are something like 10 games back from the lead of the AL East, that’s possible if they go on another nine game tear.

That last series before the break certainly helped the Giants stave off the Rockies for a bit, though failing to get the sweep does sting. Lousy relief pitching, as usual.
The players the Giants selected in the amateur draft look intriguing. They even added another Bonds to the family legacy: Peyton Bonds, son of Bobby Bonds II ("BB" from our Little League days in San Carlos).

Bobby Bonds Sr was one of the most physically complete and well-rounded athletes to ever play the game. 5 elite tools. Great power, blinding speed, good defender. The weight of the "next Willie Mays" tag was a bit much for him and he struck out a lot for his era. He would be much more heralded if he were playing today.
Strangely, the raw foot speed of Bobby, Bobby II, and Barry didn't filter down to Peyton, but they say he's a good enough defender to stick in CF.

Went to an FCL game this morning at the Atlanta Braves spring training facility CoolToday Park in Wellen Park, FL between the FCL Red Sox and FCL Braves.
For you Braves fans, that #13 at the plate is indeed Ronald Acuna Jr. He drew a walk in this at bat but hit a grand slam in his next trip to the plate. I'm assuming his rehabbing-from-injury days are nearing the end.

MLB is pushing the salary cap, not sure if they'll be successful this go around.
While I understand the player's assoc. fighting it, they really are alone on this, as every other major professional sport in the US has a cap in place. Every talking point they (player's assoc) make on why its bad, is refuted by just looking at the NFL, or NBA
I don't have any skin in this game, and as someone who largely lives paycheck to paycheck, I find the players to be whining about this a bit tone deaf.

Exactly... Found this gem after a quick search, as I know there were more athletes that complained...
