Bloody hell, what a comeback for the Giants. Down 9-1 to the Nationals in the 8th inning, I was having dark, dark thoughts about Posey and Vitello's future employment. However, they scored 5 runs in the 8th and 5 in the 9th, capped off by a walkoff grand salami by Bryce Eldridge.
I still have dark thoughts about Posey and Vitello's employment, but I couldn't believe that just happened. Eldridge is a special player.

I actually love me some Tony V and Buster P.

I don't like the Johnsons though, or our bullpen, and I'm not sure what to make of Larry Baer. He's been part of our greatest successes... and our recent absolute messes.

Eldridge, Lee, Susac, Chappy*, Arraez, Schmitt, Cox, and a few others I really love.

Devers not so much or at all really, Adames ❤️ in the field but not at the plate.

Gilbert is a goof whom I've had enough. His glove is pretty solid though.

Can we wrap up the Kennedy experiment now? Bericoto as well...

The real question is what do we do with Ramos when he comes back?

*Can we call him Chapstick when he's hitting the ball well?

I was getting really excited when the Cubs were so hot earlier this season, after a rather lackluster start out of the gate, but I knew it's a long season. I never thought the current skid would last so long. It's maddening to watch them playing from behind in almost every game, and then not catching up. At one point (not sure if it's still true) they had used more pitchers than any other team. Justin Steele has been out for nearly a season and a half. Cade Horton was lost for the season in Week 1. Injury after injury to pitchers, both starters and relievers, has been so frustrating. For a while, their hitting made up for it, but they reverted to leading the universe in men left on base. It's been really rough lately.

How did you set that up?
This just happened to me now for the Blue Jays/Red Sox game. I didn't change anything on my Mac other than update to the Mac OS 27 Beta. I have live activities for all Blue Jays games set up to auto start from the MLB app on my phone and that happened at the same time as it popped up on my Mac's menu bar. So I assume if you have a live activity through the MLB app it just does it automatically to your Mac now.

As in Homer, triple, double, single?
Yes. A cycle is just a cycle if the four hits come in random order.

In this case, PCA hit the first pitch of the game from a Blue Jay over the wall. His next at bat resulted in a triple, just missing another homer. Next time, he hit a gapper for a two bagger, then he got the single to complete the reverse cycle. I'm not sure if he got a fifth plate appearance, but probably did.

I suppose you could call a single, double, triple, home run a sequential cycle. I don't know if there is a name for it. Most are probably random, with the most frequent final hit to complete the cycle being the triple.

pretty awesome to see that i can get the score on my Mac while working or doing other things if i cant watch the game
I want that on my macbook air... i think that's what I have... I'll have to check when I get home.
Just points to an utter lack of leadership on the Giants, in the dugout and in the front office.

I'm not mad, or worried about, Tony V or Buster.

I still feel that there is room for growing pains. I do hope that they both get it figured out. And they ship off #16 asap. Seems, sounds, is probably impossible. Fingers crossed though. There was an article posted on reddit that includes him, Webb, Ray, Chapman, and Eldridge as possible trade bait.

Unfortunately, yes. And the lack of a discernible, confident plan, or course of action.

Posey met the press recently, and it was not well received, and keeping in the theme of the annus horribilis the organization is experiencing this year. Certainly lacks the public facing skills of say, a Larry Baer. It's a problem when the person speaking lacks the ability to steer the narrative, doesn't provide anything of substance, and forces the media to create their own interpretations, with all the current issues surrounding the organization. You know things aren't going well when the PR people/handlers have to step in and speak into the mic.

Not unexpected, with an inexperienced executive, and an inexperienced manager, and the inherent challenges they face from the start.

I wouldn't say it's time to blow it up, and have to start over again, but that thought has now entered my mind.

But I'm not sure this ownership regime will do any better with another try.
