well i highly doubt that the internet is the problem, i had that same problem when i first updated the .ipcc file. it worked a few times then never worked again. Then when i called and asked the people to provision my phone for mms it works perfectly.

well at least thats good to know, dont wanna pay a grip just for mms :) but i already have mms on my account, and if i put the sim in my offical tmobile sim im sure it will work but ill try that and see what i can figure out. THANKS though for the reply!:D

update

i was able to send yesterday, today i was getting the red ! i checked the settings and the apn field was not complete anymore, tried to add the settings several times but it wouldnt save it, i emptied all settings, and reset network settings, it let me add the settings and it saved. Went to do a message but the camera icon was gone, reboot and it was back, tried again, failed, verified settings were still in there and they are. stupid question maybe but does mms require an internet connection? i dont have a data plan but was on wifi before when it worked and now its not, thats the only thing i can think of. help please. - t-mobile U

ok i got it working sort of it seems to be working except when i send it to verizon phones i get an error stating it it wasnt sent even though they do actually receive it, anyone get a resolve on that?

and u need help with the MMS settings...these worked for me!!!

Once settings are entered restart ur phone and the little camera icon should show in the Messages...let me know if this helps anyone!

Everyone says this works, but does anyone know where I go on my phone to type this stuff in? :S

Settings>General>Network>Celluar Data Network>scroll down and you should see a MMS section and add those to where it asks

Thanks, I ended up figuring it somewhere else anyways. Also, is anyone else experiencing a lag? The MMS button now appears and I'm able to easily pick the photo, write the text, and press send, but when sending - the bar loads almost all the way and then stops. From what I could tell, it seemed like at least 2 minutes went by from this point until it completed sending the MMS and the bar never actually moved after that one point until it was finished. Anyone know how to possibly make this run a little smoother? Thanks Much!

Hmm, this worked for me too but was much slower than when i have 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms in the MMSC instead of what you have there.

EDIT* Actually both were slow today.Usually my setting isnt as slow.At least both worked.
The reason i wanted to try a different setting was because SwirlyMMS wont work if i have this MMS on but both were using the same settings. I dont realy need swirly when this is working but i like the new version and it has voice/sound recording and you can make ringtones with it.

What about for the iPhone 2G??????
:confused::confused::confused::confused:

3.0 mms for 2g works just fine... Swirly Not needed... a few extra steps...
You have to install ActivateMMS2G from Cydia and then possibly editAPN afterwords.... Edit APN didn't work for me, so I had to follow the instructions posted here: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f207/76905-5.htm

For people who require different APNs for their mobile data and their MMS, there may be a fix for you. I am on a Polish network which requires different APNs and I am able to send MMS and browse the internet. This is what I did:

1. Install the Cydia package "ActivateMMS2G" and reboot
2. Go to help.BenM.at on your iPhone
3. Go to the second Mobileconfigs link, the one that allows you to create a custom Mobileconfig
4. Enter your MMS APN (i.e. mms.plusgsm.pl) for both of the APN fields (Mobile Internet and Visual Voicemail) and enable tether. My network requires no username or password, if yours does, you may need to enter those as well.
5. Press generate, install it, press OK, then reboot RIGHT AWAY. Do not check the settings!!!
6. Go to settings > General and scroll down to profile. If it says 2 (or more) profiles, delete/uninstall the one(s) that are not called "help.benm.at" (i.e. delete all but the one you just installed). If it only says help.benm.at, skip to step 8.
7. After deleting the other profiles, go back to help.BenM.at and repeat steps 3-5. The first time you try to install it, it may fail or hang while installing (it did for me anyway) if this happens, press the home button, reopen Safari, then try again, it should work.
8. Once your iPhone has rebooted, go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network. Your MMS APN should be present in every APN field.
9. Fill in your MMSC and MMS Proxy. Once again, my network has no username or password, so I am not sure if you should add this here or during step 4... Experiment!!
10. Reboot your iPhone.
11. Open Messages and try to send an MMS. If it fails, check your settings are correct.
12. If it is successful, go back to Cellular Data Network and change your Cellular Data APN to the one appropriate for your network.
13. Test your data connection.
14. Test your MMS.

Cheers

These settings worked for me. However, as some other posters have noted, it seems to take a while for a message to be completely sent. Better than nothing though, so thanks for sharing the info, djamo!

That's normal...
MMS are bigger than SMS so it takes more time to process and send it out.

Yeah, perhaps on previous phones, it took just as long to send MMS, but there were no visible status bars for you to gauge the progress. I've been testing with a few of my friends this morning (who are also T-Mo user), and it took between 1-2 minutes for MMS to arrive on the receiving user's phone.

This should work for you!!!!

Just from paying attention the last couple days I've noticed:

1-When sending an MMS to Verizon customers I will receive the "Message Failed" and red "!" button next to the picture HOWEVER the MMS is sent and the Verizon customer receives the picture fine. This happens when my signal is between 2-3 bars. When I have a full signal this has not happened, yet. This has also happened to contacts with other service providers.

2-If I have anything less than a full signal, the sending time is DRAMATICALLY increased and the message usually fails.

3-MMS messages send fine with a full signal. The progress bar will travel to about 90% and remain there for less than 10 seconds.

4-Sometimes the MMS messages my contacts send me will not come through until I send THEM an MMS. I don't know why this is.

5-I send and receive MMS messages in great resolution. I'm sure this is due to the MMS UA Prof setting.

From my experience, it's best to make sure you have a FULL signal when sending MMS messages.

Sorry but how do i install an .icpp file?

Has anyone else had major problems with battery life after installing ActivateMMS2G? I am talking probably half the battery life, it sucks to get this many errors, and also lose all the battery life. If the MMS would work flawlessly I wouldn't even be bothered by the battery life.
