That was after I restored to 3.1.2. I had MMS prior with the file hack and have had it ever since.

The question would be did he have MMS before

What's 3.1.2. Never seen that before. Does anyone know the cellular data info? I have the mms setting input but not the cellular data or visual vm. they both have wap.cingular as the APN.

and no, i've not had mms working correctly on the iPhone 3g. I had it on the 2g via swirly but havent had it since the upgrade.

If you received a message, open SMS, and read what it says. The messages don't evaporate in smoke. It should still be there. And it shouldn't be under a regular phone number. If it is, someone's playing a joke on you.

If you didn't update to fix the hole in security it could be a hack via text message

Build 7c116a beta

Interesting, I've not seen that before. Though I don't have a dev account. I've tried all settings I could find and i still get a fail message. Pugnut, you said you've seen this message before? Was my quote similar to what you received? Any thoughts on this?

the Moment i got MMS (release of 3.0)

I went into settings and set "MMS Messaging" to OFF

dont need it dont want it LOL

I know how funny this will sound when you think about it, but....

has anyone who has received the message called AT&T? i know, i know, they know next to nothing about the iphone or anything else AT&T does, but if you got to the highest level of support, someone might actually find something out...chances of that are slim, but just a thought!

I did get it once before too. I did the carrier hack, etc, and then i put my BB sim in the iphone and the message came across. i put in my iphone number. since then, mms has worked on and off. i just got back from baltimore earlier today. when i was up there, mms were sending and receiving like crazy. now that i'm back in atlanta, it's still working. i'm trying to get another iphone on my account to work.

Since when was 3.1 Beta 3 named "3.1.2"

pull your head out of your ass, people make mistakes. I think my point was clear. I woudl have thought my correction with the build number would have solved the issue, but there is always one perfect person on the board. Please do not report me to the apple naming convention police.

I gotten text messages from at&t and it came like any other text message. Why would this MMS message be coming in different?

OP you are a liar..that is all.

I just did a jailbreak on my phone. I installed swirlymms and used at&t's settings, and mms has been working for me perfectly. I hope that is a good sign that at&t is about ready to officially offer mms.

When I updated Mac OS X to 10.5.8, I got a popup message from AT&T saying MMS is coming later this summer. Hmmmm.
