This one must be true, because I know for a fact TheSpaz would never write this crappy grammar.

What you say !!

Young fella, try to consider that there are pop culture references beyond Twilight and Hannah Montana. ...Why, see here, sonny...I remember when the internet was born!

Kids these days. So ready to correct grammar. What are they teaching in school anyways??

Assuming I'm a kid is hilarious. :D

And my response to thespaz was sarcasm (w/o the smiley). :)

Good humor, my friend. Be easy...in case you haven't noticed, sarcasm doesn't translate well in forum posts. And I would never assume you're a kid. I'm sure you're plenty old enough to buy smokes and love a woman! Feel better?

Considering what AT&T charges per month, this is pretty much true. :)

not even photoshop.... just use Mobile Me....

That's a cool trick though. How could you make a random message pop up on someone's IPhone like that??

So, could I send SMS messages to my friends but it says it's from AT&T? Haha. This is going to be fun. :D

"We had a problem processing your last payment. Your phone service will be turned off at 11:59pm tonight. Our call center is only open weekdays from 9am to 5pm. You will need to call from a landline on Monday morning and pay a reactivation fee." LMAO!!!!

I didn't read this whole thread but it seems like people were doubting the original poster.
I've gotten this message a lot on my jailbroken 3GS, I've probably seen it 5 times. I edited my carrier settings and stuff and enabled the MMS icon and its actions on the phone, but no real MMS yet.

This message definitely doesn't mean that you put your number in to activate MMS, but this message is real, its no hoax.
It seems to pop up randomly, I haven't found any pattern with it. I just cancel it whenever it shows up.
The original poster was obviously just excited and thought he stumbled upon something by accident.

Both our MMS stopped working weeks ago..All of a sudden two day ago, my wife received a pic. Now she can send and receive again....I CANT. No changes made. Very odd!

That's some good old school geek humor right there.

Well, kind of old school.

Not that old school. If you are in your 20's and have been on the internet since you were in your teens then you know of it. Some of these crazy 15 year olds with iPhone's and AMEX cards probably haven't though.

These days, last week is old school.

Is there any spoof texting apps or website that just shows up as the texting ID of your choice and your text, instead of the name of the website and your text in the subject line which makes it look fake? I want to trick my brother :)

pull your head out of your ass, people make mistakes. I think my point was clear. I woudl have thought my correction with the build number would have solved the issue, but there is always one perfect person on the board. Please do not report me to the apple naming convention police.

I said this in another thread not 5 minutes ago ill say it here...

OP you are a liar..that is all.

FAKE... Fake... fAke... faKe.... fakE... how else can I say it... geeze people just wait for MMS... bunch of impatient freaks

Look I CAN DO IT TOO>!!>!>!! I got a message from ATT OMG I GET MMS!!!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

good god people!

can't we all just get along:D

Conclusion!

I know how we can settle this once and for all....

OP- send a MMS to a demi god and they will post it here, in this thread...thats will seal the deal.

what's the fuss about MMS?

I've had it since 3.0 was put in beta, and I still barely use it.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A400 Safari/528.16)

Same with me. Two Iphones on the account. 1 can do it & the other can't. Beats me.

Listen, if you bothered to read the thread (though it's pointless at this point), I never said I had MMS working from ATT. I DONT! I said I received a notification, which 2 others in this thread have also said they'd received at some point in time, stating I needed to enter my phone number to receive MMS. I clicked the notification and it took me to settings>phone>number and my number was already there. I thought since I hadn't ever heard of anyone receiving this message I'd post to see if anyone else might have received it. It was an obvious anomaly, one which I had hoped would be the start of MMS becoming available on ATT. Can we just close this thread? If anyone else receives this message please let me know via PM.

he sounds irritated.. maybe cause he got called out and knows he is full of crap

I don't think he's full of crap. I've heard of people getting the same message when they lose service. I think it's a glitch.

I believe him. He's telling the truth.

I'm not irritated. Of course I was going to get called out, I knew that. I was posting to see if anyone else got the message. Which others have at some point in time. Not really sure what's so difficult to comprehend here.

It's funny how everyone in this thread is ganging up on him because they think he faked the message with mobileme, I've gotten the message like 5 times. Usually when disconnecting it from my Scosche Passport in my car. I'm jailbroken, and have MMS settings enabled, but I can't actually send or receive.

THIS IS A REAL NOTIFICATION, NOT A PUSH NOTIFICATION FROM AT&T, MMS DOES NOT WORK AFTER YOU GET IT, BUT IT IS REAL. STOP BEING IGNORANT AND CALLING IT FAKE

I'm guessing that I do something that makes it want to check my MMS setup, and since I dont, the message pops up telling me to put my mobile number in

Agreed. The OP was correct and everyone called him a liar for nothing. I'm one of the only people who believed him.
