Why do I find this funny beats me
This is just a virus causing mass distress and panic and other issues around the world and it's just the tip of the iceberg. I do believe that the way our society works at the moment speeds up the climate change. I try to comprehend how are the governments going to keep people under control when climate change will cause real issues in about 30-80 years from today, give or take the year 2100.
Edit: To the person who disliked my post. It's funny how you don't believe me when I say this virus is just the tip of the iceberg man. @Ericdjensen

Very weird/interesting; do most people in these countries turn off WiFi when leaving their house? 🤔
Since iOS 12 I’ve had so many issues with wifi disconnecting or not reconnecting when I get home. Both my 7 and now my 11 Pro... so some days I will just disable it via settings and re-enable. Stupid behaviour, iOS 14 needs a fix and option to change what control centre does

rarely for me. I try to toggle but seem as normal nothing changed. In old-time, yeah I sure off wifi.

No, but I believe public ridicule is warranted for putting many of our loved ones at risk through completely selfish acts. If I ran a business, I would fire anyone not complying with the guidelines (if they have a choice). It's completely disgusting to care so little about your fellow human that you'd put them at risk like that.

If fellow humans -- particularly at risk fellow humans -- are staying home, then what is the mechanism by which they become infected by someone who does not stay home?

Showing up in Malaysia as well on Digi telco the day after Malaysia started the Movement Control Order on 18th March 2020.

At least some level of human contact is required for survival. Specifically, groceries and medical care. Overloading our medical facilities and putting essential employees, caregivers and emergency workers at risk of getting and spreading illness and death hurts all of us.

With with WiFi calling enabled, Verizon says “VZW Wi-Fi”. It still says that and I doubt they’ll give up that little advertisement lol.
I don’t know if this happening in the states at all though. Didn’t see anything in the comments

Good one. They should do it in North America. Every measure and every step counts at this point.

For some people, working is essential. For some people, their business is essential. For some people, the idea of being locked in their home for anything other than going to a grocery store is dire, and in many cases, totally unnecessary. Some people might get sick, sure. Some people will certainly have their lives rocked financially. This situation is the result of systematic control of the means of production in the healthcare system, by the government, to all of our detriment. The case can reasonably be made for cities perhaps, but shutting off the whole country especially in more rural/suburban areas, is deeply uncalled for.

And, as you said, those people at home are going to need human contact at some point anyway, so...

Do you know what the point of the shutdown is?

“Your GPS says you are at that massage parlor again. That’s twice this week. Your wife is wanting to know what those withdrawals are from the ATM. I’m going to tell her Siri if you don’t stop. And you go to the liquor store too often too. Your liver must be black. And slow down. You drive too fast. Speaking of, your insurance companies asked for your data and I gave it to them, for a price. You have a new email from them saying they are canceling your policies.” Big Brother, your phone.

In the real world, there are no absolutes. The infection could be transmitted by aid givers, by UPS drivers, by postal workers, etc. Where they got it from who can say, but what is certain is if we can stop the chain of infection at any point, so that it never ends up reaching that elderly person, a life can be saved.

Nobody intends to infect an at-risk person with such a dangerous illness (at least I should hope not, good lord...), but mistakes can happen. That's why we need to each do our part, to reduce the odds of such a mistake as much as possible.

Plus, we also need to give our medical system, and the medical systems around the world, the time they need to come up with effective treatments which could potentially make this disease less life-threatening for them, and save lives.

I’m quite aware.

1) How is this “destructive to the welfare of a free and open society”? The purpose is to save lives during a pandemic. That is constructive to the welfare of a free and open society.

2) Where is the “brutal policy of draconian control by propaganda, surveillance, disinformation, denial of truth (doublethink), and manipulation of the past”?

It’s a reminder by a cell carrier that staying home during a pandemic of a contagious virus saves lives. Apparently you’ve read a lot more into it than is there.

ANd where is the government doing this?

I turn off or disable my WI-FI just as habit. Just in case someone smarter than me can get in past all my VM, firewall, etc., when I’m gone. Been doing it for years.

If you have all that setup, why not block inbound initiated traffic to your iPhone and other devices?
