Then you should change carrier because they are not allowed to do that.
Not? Telekom Deutschland introduced new plans round about a year ago with Roam like at home +they reintroduced a Hotspot Flatrate. They are not allowed? Wrong.

Unless the UK and the EU can manage a EU deal that includes this ruling as well. Would be better both for the EU and England i.m.h.o. I still regret that England decided to leave the EU which is, again i.m.h.o. bad for both England and the EU. I believe more in working together rather then consolidating and trying to do everything as a single country in these globalising times....

Yeah because paying £350 million a WEEK to an unelected organisation just so that they could overrule our own government and constantly tell us what to do was so great. Wasn't it..
Christ.. Wake up.
But yay for cheaper roaming guys. Just yay..

Errm, the European Parliament which passes the laws is elected. Plus there isn't a single law on the UK Statute book that hasn't been passed by our Parliament.

And that £350m, haven't we all already realised that was just a massive con and it doesn't really exist? It certainly isn't going to be winging its way to the NHS as promised by the Brexit Battle Bus

Good grief! You actually believed the lies?
Astonishing. How about you start educating yourself on the lies and unfolding disaster.

I really want another referendum on Brexit.. I'm sure the outcome would be different a second time round.

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, BUT... That's not how democracy works!
Maybe you would like another general election too? or are you ok with that result? perhaps we should keep on having referendums or general elections until YOU get what YOU want. And how about when the England football team loose another football match, shall we insist on a rematch after rematch until we win??
I know it's hard and it's not what I voted for, but we have to accept it and move on and make the best of the situation and stop crying over spilt milk.

sorry, rant over!!

I'm italian. We recently got a sort of gay-marriage law only after years of pressure from the EU, treating us like stupid kids... because we actually are stupid kids who need help.
It's full of decent laws, from phone companies regulation to civil rights, we can enjoy becuse the EU. And most italians are mad at the EU because they don't allow us to let immigrants die in the mediterranean sea. I don't know if I want to live here.
(Sorry for the long, not-so-related post).

Italy needs a vetting system you can't let everybody in because you feel guilty. For those who are not fit (criminals, terrorists) they need to be driven back home at the same time european leaders should stop supporting religious parties in those countries and pretend that they are democratic. Religion is Never democratic but people could be. If they are helped to achieve secular states they will have less wars their economy will flourish and there will be less of them dying on your country's shores.

Why? The consultational nature of the Brexit referendum would warrant a referendum once the actual terms are negotiated; this is a massive change of your political system, basically constitutional level change. You had a referendum about entering the common market, you had one about leaving the EU, you could have one about actual Brexit terms. Arguably, a lot of the reasons some UK citizens voted for Leave (the 350 million pounds to NHS claim that was dropped quickly; not realizing that the EU would not negotiate on terms where the UK gets to pick and choose the part of the Four Freedoms they want; that keeping access to the common market would require keeping and implementing the acquis communautaire, just without the political participation they used to have; that to avoid a hard Brexit without that will be probably impossible; etc).

You honestly think we have no vetting of asylum seekers and just let criminals and terrorists in knowingly?

A new European Union law came into effect on Thursday that abolishes roaming charges for people using mobile phones abroad. The new rules mean that European citizens traveling within the EU that call, text, and browse the internet on their mobile devices will be charged the same price they pay in their home country.

European-Commisssion-800x533.jpg

Previously, roaming charges were added to the cost of calls, SMS messages, and web browsing whenever mobile users in the EU traveled to another country and connected to another cellular network. The practice of charging consumers extra while they were abroad gained widespread notoriety because users often ended up having to pay extortionate fees for relatively moderate data usage.
The EU has been negotiating with mobile networks for nearly 10 years to come to an agreement regarding the legislation, following repeated warnings from networks that the law could mean higher tariffs at home. That outcome appears to have been avoided, however.

"The EU has managed to find the right balance between the end of roaming charges and the need to keep domestic mobile packages competitive and attractive," continued the statement. "Operators have had 2 years to prepare for the end of roaming charges, and we are confident that they will seize the opportunities the new rules bring to the benefit of their customers."

Despite the new law, consumer watchdog Which? told the BBC that mobile users need to be aware that if they exceed contract data allowances while traveling within the EU they will still be charged, just as they would be in their own country. Also, the law only applies to travelers, so calling another EU country from home will still incur additional charges.

Update: Some readers are reporting that mobile carriers in certain EU countries have already raised their plan prices, although it's still unclear if this is a direct result of the legislation that came into effect today.

EU still has a long way to go to be like the US in every country aspect. Wish the best for them.

Er, Not sure thats correct. I believe the door slammed shut when article 50 was initiated as It cannot be stopped.

Actually triggering Article 50 really was the point of no return for this. Mind you, the referendum wasn't even binding so the powers that be could have just ignored the thing at the cost of being political suicide to whoever attributes the decision not to leave the EU to themselves.

Still, the whole farce passed mostly thanks to working class and other poor people who will obviously be the worst hit by foreign companies not only taking their jobs with them as they leave for Ireland and the continent, but also the tax money. You can pretty much count on the NHS receiving less money and not more like Farage and the rest of the Leave campaigners promised.

A bit of an insensitive analogy considering what happened in London yesterday
Had to say it because that's a government that is doing everything possible to screw its hardest working and poorest citizens. Be glad you gave the EU while it lasts because after that they'll lure the biggest criminals in the world with the promise of a tax haven. When that happens London becomes a playground for the wealthiest and you just become a bottom feeding servant who can barely survive month to month.

Even if they leave everything as is I won't be mad, the overall prices for Internet when outside the country have dropped considerably in the past few years. I still remember the days when I had to pay a lot for just 50 or 100MBs of mobile Internet.

So the question is, does this apply to mobile Internet or just to calls and texts?

Err yes that's how General Elections work... we have them every 5 years. Or even more when when we have arrogant leaders.... like now. And when a football team loses a match it's not like they cease to exist, in fact they get dozens of chances to improve every year for like ever.

We had a referendum on joining the European Community 40 years ago, didn't stop the right wingers whinging all this time. They got their 2nd referendum and overturned the first one. Not even a militant remainer but god I think referendums are awful. There's a reason many countries don't have them.

Well it doesn't seem to be stopping anyone else.

Now which facts would you like to dispute?
For clarity's sake - "Don't let YOUR facts interfere with the other person's ranting". We're on the same page, believe me. Haven't seen the "nanny state" argument being used yet in the forum bashing, but the day is still young.
Anyway - back on topic - keep in mind that calling from EU country A to a EU country B number will still cost you (as that's not 'roaming').

Your post is offensive to "real" Italians, I don't know in what part of Italy you live in, but you are very much disinformed and should not talk about matter that A have nothing to do with this thread and B you know very little about.

Typical "average Italian", badmouthing Italy and the Italians......may be you should really leave!
