This is a request to the Mods / powers-that-be to convert the first post of this info thread into a Wikipost:
Upgrading 2013/2014 Macbook Pro SSD to M.2 NVMe
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/upgrading-2013-2014-macbook-pro-ssd-to-m-2-nvme.2034976/
It's now 143 pages long and is full of very useful information on how to swap out the SSD of (if I remember rightly) any Macbook Air or Macbook Pro 2013-2015 for a newer, cheaper, larger, faster NVME SSD. The situation is evolving fast as a number of NVME ssds and adaptors are coming out, and all have their pros and cons. There are also several issues with hibernation which is being worked through.
The problem is there's nowhere for newcomers and oldtimers to see a summary of the current state of knowledge, or current tips on resolving hibernation problems. It's a big ask to search through 143 pages for info.
Please could I and other thread posters humbly request that the first post be converted to a wikipost, so that it can be kept up to date? Similar to the first post in this thread:
Blade SSDs - NVMe & AHCI
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/blade-ssds-nvme-ahci.2146725/
This is a bit of an irregular ask because the 143 page thread was started by maxthackray who has only made a few posts, and has not returned to MR for almost 2 years now. It's unlikely he will come back to make his post a wikipost, so this would be a bit of a mod intervention. If it would help, I'm happy to have him credited for starting the whole thing, and to have the contents of his original post preserved below the wikipost contents.
