MOGA BOOST TECHNOLOGY. I am sick and tired of these types of marketing buzzwords. You put a battery pack in your product which actually feeds power to the host device. It's no different than other battery cases that have been available for several product generations.

So what do they call it? MOGA Connected Additional Internal Battery Pack Extension Technology?

"I GOT CAIBPET, DOODZ! FEEL MY HARDCORES".

"...Caibpet? what is that? Like the clap or something? STAY AWAY FROM ME"!

my biggest disappointment is that it's not available for the 4S. Hoping some manufacturer thinks the 4S niche is big enough to make a profit off of.

The iPhone is an extremely powerful gaming device, but for many serious/hardcore games, they do require having multiple buttons like this. Something like this could really help the iPhone as a gaming platform. but only if there isn't huge fragmentation. like if there a bunch of different 3rd party controllers with different buttons and features, and random apps supporting certain models of controllers would be a nightmare.

If apple made 1 controller, or apple supported 1 controller and made it mainstream then I think this would be cool.

I also like that there is an additional battery, because intense games will really drain the battery!

What's interesting is the Protocol carries across to OSX too. so you can use the controller on both iOS and your mac

I know these have the MFI naming, but if they every get their big brains out their arse and get Apps on an ATV they are going to have a serious casual gaming machine.

With these leaks, is it possible we have "one more thing..." being a third fall keynote focusing on the living room? Controllers, updated Apple tv?

Obviously you since you took the time to search for the appropriate pic for your reply.:D

Then, after he was done telling us how little he cares here, he hopped over to the Mayo Clinic Gynecology forums to talk about how nothing he found there pertains to him because he doesn't have a vagina.

WELL THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW, GUY! I GUESS WE CAN ALL SLEEP BETTER TONIGHT KNOWING...

This is exactly right. I don't understand why Apple wouldn't make a controller, seriously look at this controller, and the marketing, including the name... to me it just spells disaster, and I don't think many people would buy it, many apps would bother to add support for it, and most importantly, AAA titles would begin to be developed for iOS. If Apple made a controller it would be amazing, widely known, all developers would be on board, and AAA developers would be much more likely to start developing for iOS.

Are you going to hack an Xbox 360 controller to send bluetooth signals to iOS? I'm sure the MFi handshake requires some proprietary crap from Apple. I remember JB'ing my original iPad to use a Wii remote to play Nintendo games. That was pretty cool but the software was kind of buggy. Probably also the 256MB of ram on the original iPad causing things to crash.

Besides that, the 360 controller uses a wireless system proprietary to Microsoft. NOT bluetooth.

Woosh

I'm afraid you've missed the point. Why call it anything? Does it really need a catchy name? Just tell me that it charges my phone while I play, not throw some catchy buzzword at me that makes it seem like it's somehow enhancing the performance of anything aside from my battery life. MOGA Ace Power is fine as it is, don't start marketing it as MOGA Ace Power with MOGA BOOST Technology--that's just ridiculous.

There are 3 types (and only 3 types) of controllers that Apple is approving as part of this standard. The standard defines the buttons that *must* be included and supported with each controller, and each manufacturer *must* abide by these rules or they won't be approved MFi controllers.

The one in this video is the attached version (where the iOS device is physically attached to the controller) - there are two varieties of "attached," one with the dual analog sticks and dual shoulder buttons either side (like this one), the other which has no analog sticks and only single shoulder buttons either side.

There is one additional controller which is "unattached" which has the same buttons as the one featured here, it just operates without physical contact with the iOS device.

The thing about this particular controller that I don't like is that they've put the left analog stick at the top rather than at the bottom, which is where I'd prefer it to be, along with the right stick. I'd probably get used to this layout, but I'm also sure some manufacturer will put both at the bottom.

I know. But if somebody REALLY knew what they were doing, they could modify the output signals to transfer over bluetooth if they installed their own bluetooth controller chips and software. Or you could reverse engineer the current controllers radio signals and make a box that picks up those signals and translates to bluetooth signals that could then be interpreted and mapped to the iOS API? But it would require a ton of work and skill to pull off. You never know what the people in these forums are capable of!

I'm sure somebody will do it eventually.

I just want an Xbox 360 controller clone that I can use with the new iPad I'm getting in November. Then I want some serious console ports as the new iPad is supposed to be on par with the graphics output of the Xbox 360 and PS3. Then on lunch breaks I can close my office door, flip my iPad smart cover around to make it stand, grab the controller out of my bag and play some GTA V or Destiny without an elaborate setup. That's the dream—but only if people are willing to pay more for AAA titles on iOS. I think if they do quality ports of upcoming games with controller support, there are a growing number of hardcore gamers with tablets that would drop $30-40 on such games. The ROI will grow over time.

How much of a cut does Microsoft or Sony get per game sold vs. Apple's 70/30 split?

I kick back at lunch time with my nvidia shield. Love to portability and raw power of this device.

I agree. Especially since most old iPhone 4 and 4s models are likely "flow downs" to kids. As I type, I'm wiping my wife's old iPhone 4s and re-installing games/kids books to give to my daughter. She has no interest in a Nintendo DS (to my dismay) but has been jumping through hoops, doing extra chores, and agreeing to forego her commission in hopes that I won't sell the 4s so she can have it.

However, with regard to controller manufacturers taking the 4s into account, I suspect the reason they will not is because they know that most of the new games developed for the new control scheme will take advantage of the capabilities of the 5/5s models.

Same here. Don't really care about having a controller for my iPhone. I want a stand alone controller that I can use with my iPad.

Excellent! I think it looks great and the prince is fine. The dual mode setup is very clever, as is the inclusion of a battery pack which will obviously benefit gaming. I will probably buy one. It looks way mote usable than Logitech's "just phone it home" thingy.

Do you think that maybe Apple will have a 3rd event this fall where they show off a new Apple TV, Apple TV app store, and controllers?

Never say never, but I wouldn't bet the house on that; I think they have their hands full at the moment trying to ensure adequate supplies of all the goodies released recently, for this all-important Q4 (Apple Q1).

Give us a portable controller with real analog sticks! Then I can play a FPS the way it's designed to play. Those little nubs won't cut it for real games. Then console type games should be ported to iOS. Every time I look at these controllers they have watered down analog sticks, that I can only image the controls being sub par.

What about audio? If the iOS device is going to be docked in a controller, there should be speakers in the device and a headphone port with volume controls.

It looks like they just cut out a couple channels on the right side for sound to pass through.

wholesale corsets are very popular and easy no matter on Europe or America. And most ladies like to match the fashion corset with wholesale stockings to build up slender shape.

What a coincidence! I have been looking for a wholesale supplier of fashionable corsets for some time now. Do you have any idea where I might find one?

The PhoneJoy team has gotten an MFi license and is currently reworking their Kickstarter project to fit the specifications given by Apple, and since it doesn't have the charge port that this controller has - it will work on iPhone 4S as well.

Be aware that the pre-orders available will ONLY work with iCade games on iOS unless you have a jailbroken device! The MFi version is not yet available for pre-order. http://www.phonejoy.com

Fanboy comments... Geez.

What's your background in marketing?

Nah will be next year now. Cook said in the financial report. It's an iPad christmas and next year will be new product categories.

I personally see it as
A watch device
The TV
AND if they are not missing the biggest trick...
Home automation based stuff. It's a perfect apple blend. Even if they are not making the actual Hardware, say light switches etc. they will produce a chip that either works on BT4 or Airplay for home automation... "Airhome' or something.

Control everything from your watch / TV / Phone, mac or whatever comes along in the future. Automatic location based house control, such as turning the lights, new iTV and kettle on as you are close to home.

The trick would be to make it not dependant on a specific Device... So you don't have to have the iTV or iPhone, but a watch with say a ATV will work as a hub controller. the ATV is soooo underused it's crazy.

But if you have a TV you can have visual control over your house too. All sorts of home automation options are available - lighting, heating ( partner with Nest ) The Chips can be put into Ovens :) Blind controls, Locks, alarms, Smoke and CO2 Alarms, Cameras and anything else you can think of.

the whole lot could be controllable from any of your devices, and unlike ALL Current home automation won't require a degree in Linux Programming to setup. It'll have a simple drag and drop type interface.

Wishful thinking?
