What you’re talking about though is a difference in how the recording is mixed, it has little to do with storage medium. You can have extremely well mixed digital recordings too. The trend to mix badly for increased loudness, and the trend towards digital release formats, just coincided. The solution is not vinyl, the solution is to stop pressuring sound engineers to mix things badly.
Most of the time, you're better off ripping a 90s CD to iTunes than buying the "Apple Digital Remaster". You'll be surprised how good music can sound.Didn’t say vinyl was the solution. Said it predated the boom in the Loudness War so a lot of music fans preferred the old mixes compared to what they were getting later. The first era of digital remasters were all made loud. Now as you know the music is getting 2nd or 3rd generation digital remasters that go back to how the music was supposed to sound like.
Yea. We spent a lot of time getting the fade in and out right as well as the balance between slow and fast dance songs to set the mood.Reel to reel was more of a boomer thing. GenX was all about compact cassettes, and recording stuff off the radio.
A vinyl hipster will tell you Crosley is hot garbageWhile I appreciate 'vinyl', this packaging is hipsterFi AF. The only thing it is missing is the obligatory Crosley player.
Unless this has been in production for some time already I’d say that’s optimistic. May would be a best case scenario lol. Pressing turnaround times have been nightmarish in a post-2020 world. Wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually announce some delay.“Expected to ship May 2023”. Lolololol
