I've never heard of or seen such a thing called money clip before this thread 😱. After a quick google, I can't say I find those things appealing. Binder clips seems to be more convenient! It looks like a hassle to wedge the money in there and take them out. If it's just a couple bills, just put them in your pocket, if it's a lot of bills, isn't it a pain to take out everything every time you need something? Plus how would you hold coins?

I have both, a money clip and a wallet.
Use the wallet during the day holding my notes and Ccards, and if I go out drinking at night, I use the moneyclip for my notes and sling the change in my pocket (dont need Ccard out at night).
I found that I was losing quite a lot of money when I used to go out drinking! I worked it out whenever I went in my pocket to get £10 or £20 to pay for drinks then another note would follow it out and land on the floor!
I have no doubt that a moneyclip has saved me money now 😛

im personally one of those types of guys who feels naked without that lump in my back pocket.
i get uncomfortable if i dont FEEL my wallet on me.
plus...my wallet is pretty sweet.
although, on occassion, when going to a concert, or the gym, taking the dog for a walk. i find it normal to leave my wallet and just carry a bit in my pocket. something a money clip would be a perfect solution for.

with a wallet like that there's no reason for you to ever leave home without it. I got a Gucci wallet as a graduation present after high school but it had seen quite a bit of wear since then. I'll have to look into getting another one...maybe after I graduate from college

I'm the same way. On the rare occasions when I 🙂eek🙂 forget to take it with me I get nervous - no plastic, no license, no cash.
My (trifold) wallet's black leather with a red star decal on the front. I have this friend who's always on about how cool it is - I have no idea why she thinks it's so great..

I don't use a money clip, or a wallet, and I don't just throw them in my pocket. You have to have money/cards to do any of those things 😀
Actually, I use the little ID holder that came with a wallet I bought once. It's got two sides, one for my Driving license and a few other cards, and the debit card and work purchasing card go in the other. If I have cash it gets folded in half and placed between the two folds of the ID holder. The whole thing fits nicely in my front pocket where it's much harder to pickpocket.

it is because of the star thing.
I am a wallet guy. My trifod is just a basic leather wallet that is 2 years old.
I like wallets because they hold plastic cards better. It is not like I carry cash much any more. Like others I feel weird going out with out it on me.

Oh yeah, I also feel naked without my wallet/moneyclip thing. I have a lot of stuff that I carry around with me for no apparent reason. I've gotta have my iPod in my pocket whether I plan to listen to it or not, I've gotta have my cell phone, I have my keys and my wallet, and usually a Pen (i'm a student and usually going to either study or attend a class).

I've run the whole cycle, went from trifold wallet for years to a money clip, to the small wallet with built in money clip (usually non-magnetic clips since I'm paranoid about erasing my Credit card(s)) but the money clip always eventually wore a hole in my back pocket (probably should have done the front pocket but those are reserved for cell phone and car keys).
I've since realized that I never cary cash so I removed the clip from the current small wallet and just have the bi-fold with my three most used cards, CC, Best Buy, and ATM, one corporate card, my driver's license, Sam's club card, insurance cards and one VIP membership to a local Phó place.
My wallet got to thick, I moved to money clip to slim down, and once I got it down and eliminated cash I went back to a trim wallet. If they won't take my Credit card they won't get my business, unless my wife is along with the cash.
