A plastic iPhone instead of a aluminum one who certainly tick of those Green whatever people.

Yeah, the nerve of those "green whatever people" giving a s*** about the Earth, instead of an expensive gadget.

To me, it just doesn't make much sense to make such a big deal about "going green" without practicing what you preach. Especially with Al Gore sitting on the board, it seems odd that Apple would return to plastic materials. As of 2008, the MacBook is the only remaining consumer product that is still clad in plastic.

Exactly!!

As much as I hope the above pics are not the real gen2 IPhone but something about these pics.... espl the form factor, the placement of the sensors, the front camera hole the embedded Apple logo.... makes me beleive this is most likely legit.... Or else 99% close to legit....

I would personally like to see Aluminium back and Apple innovating some smart way to improve the wireless signal by repositioning or reinventing the antenna within the IPhone....

Just imagine holding a scratched WHITE Plastic IPhone like those scratched MacBooks or gen1 Ipod Nanos..... It will just start loosing its visual impact once its all scratched up on the back....

Fake!

The top picture is a photoshopped mighty mouse. I don't see anything so blatant in any of the other pictures, though.

I saw this iPhone on House tonight! So obviously it is a fake and it is a white cover surrounding the iPhone. Wish I had a pic from the show.

I don't know... they look like the "leaked" specs, but the top picture and the sensor picture don't look like they go together. The chrome ring looks smaller in the sensor picture, but larger in the top picture. I guess that could just be the shadow though.

either it's better than plastic, namely, look like plastic, but it isn't.

or

they are all fake..being there, released by apple, to obscure that fact that 2nd gen. iphone will rule all..and everybody gets surprised on D-day, which is June 9th.

It certainly looks a damn site better than that matte black rip-off from the other day (which was blatantly some cheap phone from a couple of years ago with a massive screen and Apple logos stuck on) but it still just looks like it's a case of some sort.

If someone actually had one of these things they'd be able to come up with at least one picture, rather than going for the smoke 'n' mirrors routine. These photos only look marginally better than UFO shots, for Pete's sake!

Isn't this just a white version of the black case that was displayed a month or so back. That one was debunked subsequently, I think this one falls into the same basket.

Still, I am curious to see what the 3G iphone looks like, it's not an easy design task to top the previous one.

what if...

What if the 3G iPhone doesn't look ANYTHING different than the current iphone? isn't that a possibility folks?

I saw a different picture of a white iPhone on a japanese web site sometimes last week. I will try to find it again...

EDIT: Found the image on my hardrive. Still looking for the site.

This are horrible, the sensors that are shown are at different perspectives. Nice try, but the white does look good.

So let's use the example that this is just an outer shell of the new iPhone with no guts. Is it not plausible that Apple sent this out to certain businesses for cases only. The material could be cheap plastic, but the actual iPhone would be a lot nicer. To me it looks like it has the same form factor as the Air the way the edges curve more then the current iPhone. I think that if the new phone is a bit thicker, the Air form factor actually makes it look thinner.

Just a thought.

I saw it too, though I'm pretty sure it was the 1st gen iphone with a white incase slider

I don't know about you guys, but Apple is WELL KNOWN for not letting an ounce of information escape from within the company.

Are you being sarcastic? Over the last couple of years the information has trickled out. In fact, the only two surprises in the last couple of years were the Apple TV and the Time Capsule. Everything else was anticipated.

Everyone has to remember the source.... China?

Everyone knows that China blatantly rips off everybody's products to the point where they use the actual corporate logos on the rip offs. It gets so ridiculous that vendors and retailers over here inadvertently buy products from supply warehouses and don't even realize that they are selling cheap knock offs. China is THAT good.

Uuuum, did you know that a lot (maybe even most or all) of apple products are built in China?

These new shots kinda remind me of the shots of the new iMac keyboard, which were generally considered to be fake. Of course, they also remind me of the full screen iPod shots, with the sticker on the cable...
