Maybe I'm just biased because I have a 1st gen iPhone, but I think the 1st gen still looks sleeker than any of these 2nd gen photos.
The first gen ones are nice.

But I like this idea as well.

Apple seem to be moving away from white, and I personally think that white does not look very appealing on this iPhone.
Well, Apple does have a tendency to colorize their iPods, and in the past their iMacs.

With a plastic type shell on the iPhone, we may just see fruity color iPhones.

I think it looks fantastic. Hopefully we'll see this come to realization.
Personally, I agree. I like the original, but also like these as well.

And I am thinking, that Apple may want to really differentiate between gen 1 and 2 since, according to rumor, there will be significant changes and improvements.

Reasons that this and the other photos are FAKE!

1. Apple has become green they are not going to step backwards and use plastic! It just wont happen

2. This isnt apple's style it looks like a little kids phone.

3. And almost all of the pictures that are so called "leaked" are almost never true because apple does a good job of keeping its products a secret until release day.

4. Not being racists but it's from an asian site! Look how many knock off's of the iPhone are in china exc.

Personally, I am hoping for an thinner aluminum body like the current iMac. :D

Would be nice to see an IR port on the new iPhone to be able to use in exchange with the Apple Remote... Of course, Bluetooth or WiFi or 3G would also work instead... IR would be nice though to use iPhone as a universal remote! ;-)

Hopefully 802.11 N too...

a feature not often discussed: the camera, surely apple will realise that to compete with modern multimedia phones they need a better camera, which would mean BIGGER!

i also think that apple has almost totally moved away from white and plastic (bar the macbook which hopefully will be refreshed come WWDC)

So let's use the example that this is just an outer shell of the new iPhone with no guts. Is it not plausible that Apple sent this out to certain businesses for cases only. The material could be cheap plastic, but the actual iPhone would be a lot nicer. To me it looks like it has the same form factor as the Air the way the edges curve more then the current iPhone. I think that if the new phone is a bit thicker, the Air form factor actually makes it look thinner.

Just a thought.
Exactly.

It could be fake or not, but all of those calling out "fake!" the loudest have nothing on which to base those opinions. This model fits in almost exactly with both Apple's design philosophy (simple clean lines, few buttons, exotic or expensive looking materials, etc.), as well as their most recent design directions (more organic shapes, black and white colouring).

I'm hoping its real, and that the white material is the new ceramic. Maybe it's not, but there is not too much to indicate fakery at this point.

please don't be ignorant and make statements like these. qualifying a semi-racist statement by first saying "i'm not being racist" doesn't make it non-racist.

and ps. you DO realize that iphones are MADE in china, right?

"According to The Wall Street Journal, the iPhone is manufactured on contract in the Longhua, Shenzhen factory of the Taiwanese company Foxconn"

that's from when the iphone was originally announced. it's not white, it's silver. just the lighting.

I saw a different picture of a white iPhone on a japanese web site sometimes last week. I will try to find it again...

EDIT: Found the image on my hardrive. Still looking for the site.

...and you completely misread what was said, and interpreted it in your own way to suit your holier than thou shakedown. You didn't understand the point being made and chose to play upon the stereo typing you believed was being implied, and effectively created a racist comment.

How do you account for nano, shuffle packaging?

I'm at a loss as to why people are so set against plastic on the next iPhone.

Wow, that's not anything like what I'd want to buy - the back of it reminds me of a panasonic wireless home phone, and it loses the distinctness of the original. No plastic, no curved back... please.

all that picture is is a custom iphone from http://www.colorwarepc.com. they make a bunch of custom stuff like iPods, all mac comps (except Mac Pro) and others, game consoles and stuff like that. the white back looks just like a custom one from the website so chances are its not a iPhone 2.0

iPhone 3G leaked photo from iPhoneHellas.gr

Have you seen this?

I believe this is the next iPhone 3G!
