9600M GT..

I thought they said next gen graphics..

MOTHER F...
Told ya :D

edit. oooh they're updating the Air
Next up is the MacBook Air. They’re putting the 9400M into the MBA. 4x faster graphics. They’re upgrading the 120GB HDD (up from 80GB), or a 128GB SSD. Also has a Mini Display port.
The Air is not complete crap anymore \o/

edit: oh crap they're talking about the 24" screen already, moving the macbook to "one more thing", evil bastards

Lol. That sounds like a scam to me, mister.

I swear it's not!

All I need is your credit card number, and ccv2...maybe the Pin Code too...

Oh and your name, Address, Telephone Number, Occupation and Social Security Number...:D

Well sounds like gruber was right, whitebook, down $100 to $999 (I guess they just want to get rid of their plastic enclosure stock)
(screen is $899, it's a steal, and by it's a steal I mean highway robbery)

Just like the pro, sweet!

Glass trackpads? Wait, did the macbook pros have glass trackpads? I don't remember.

Aaaaaannnnd...

no firewire mentioned, I think it's dead ladies and gentleman, it has ceased to exist, it's an ex-tension port.

edit: only the $1600 macbook has backlit display, and they're selling all the cables (DVI, Dual-DVI and VGA) as accessories.

Looks like a smaller MacBook Pro. This is going to make a lot of people very happy (but they'll whine anyway) :)

yep, they did.

edit: SSD option on the macbook though.
edit2: and gruber was 100% on all count, including $1300 macbook being shot down to 2GHz

Well, here is to hoping the next refresh will have FW3200. Or at least any flavor of hi-sustained-rate-IO-port.

So now we have, uh... MB Classic, MB Semi-Pro and MB Pro?
I'm pretty sure the "classic" will disappear within, say, 6-9 months: they're ramping up the aluminium process and getting rid of their extra macbook parts/plastic enclosures/whatever. Once that's done, they'll silently phase it out, get the current $1300 down to $1100 and introduce back a 2.4GHz $1300 macbook.

Well they haven't talked about extension ports (apart from displayport) at all, so it might already be there...

If you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you in alaska, by the way.

Uh... there's a Q&A, has there ever been Q&As at apple events?

edit: $100 that not one of the journalists is going to ask about firewire

So... You think there is no future need for a hi-speed IO -- USB 2.0 is good enough forever?

And that bridge joke - funny - except it's been played out on fox news 9 trillion times. Original.

Thanks, hadn't seen one yet (I guess I don't follow apple events enough yet)

edit: goddamn idiots asking about blu-ray

No Prob, I Think the iPhone SDK had a Q&A...

Blu-Ray? I might like it...but It's not a dealbreaker...Now FireWire...That need to be discusssed.

-What's the size and weight differences between new and old MacBooks? Tim Cook says MacBook goes from 1.08" to 0.95", same as the MacBook Pro. MacBook is 4.5 lbs and MacBook Pro is 5.5 lbs
3.3mm less...

That's like 10%, but still, kinda meh

edit: all new screens are glass, so
Q: Are you going to have matte screens or just go with glossy glass ones? How about with reflection problems?
A: Just glass, and we’re going to compensate for the reflection from pushing more light through the back. And, since these are notebooks, you can position it any way you want.
epic meh
-What's the concern about the glare on the new screens? Are you planning to incorporate matte screen in the future? Steve says "We're going straight glass. A few of our customers prefer matte screens, but a vast majority (capital "V" on Vast) prefer glass because of brighter colors, etc."

and I win, not one damn question about FW, everybody gives me $100
