9to5Mac claims that they have more information about the "Brick" codename and that "this will be huge." They've also enclosed the following teaser image which appears to depict a laser.

More info is promised this weekend.

Attention whores! I call BS on this. 9to5 Mac is just trying to generate some web traffic so they can pay their bills.

@ naroola:

Didn't Jobs say that their is no market for eBooks? I could have sworn that he said that Apple wouldn't be getting into eBooks.

True. But years ago, he had also said that nobody would want to watch videos on a small screen like the ones on iPods... and then he releases iPods that can play videos. So, you never know. :)

You now know the secret to how these rumor sites work. Congrats.

I thought it was a comment that he made recently, oh well. We will see.

Very far-fetched approach but...

"greener apple"? Aluminum macbooks and more recyclable parts?

The laser may be a very very loose reference to blu-ray support?

very vague.

this is a bit unlike them, isn't it?
be interesting to see what they come up with.

i doubt that the folks from 9 to 5 mac are stupid enough to do something like that, and expect to get away with it, and to be completely honest, i didnt even know that the web site brought in any revenue. i though it was something this guy did in his spare time.

your quoting something jobs said a while back, the market is CONTANLY CHANGING. he was was talking about the market place for ebooks at the time, not the current status quo. jobs could very well eat his words, cause he can't predict the future.

i personally dont belive it's a ebook, but dont be so sure it isnt, you never know. nobody here knows.

like the ppl who insisted kevin rose was lying because the ipod nano was a obivious mock up, (and they apparently proved it with thier superior photoshop knowledge). this is all theory and speculation, none of us know *?&#

If Apple was getting into the eBook business they would have been denying all the eBook Apps in the App store.

I guess it could be BluRay laser, but the tint of the picture is green.

"criptonomicon" could be the name of the book (only book that came up seaching on the partial title), but don't know if this means anything. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptonomicon

Edit: Took too long to type my response, someone beat me to the book name. :)

Or Apple is taking over building the Death Star from Microsoft. :)
