my 2 cents

:confused::confused::confused:

i don't know, you don't know, and 9to5 probably doesn't know or else they would have released it already.

I say let's wait and see what happens Oct. 14th (if anything happens at all)

i'd put my money on an announcement at MacWorld, but, eh, who knows

Now with built-in green iLight!

In other news, HUGE event to announce reverting the line to a design similar to the 1st gen iBook (much loved by consumers), but now in MORE COLORS!

This makes no sense. Why hold out till the weekend. Just tell us already. Giving pointless "teasers" is Apple's job, not 9to5's

EDIT: Apple's teasers are not pointless, but this one is

What about light scribe? The laser is the thing that inscribes the image and the book cover is just a representation for a cover of the cd? Farfetched? Maybe.

Laser keyboard for the iPhone?

:eek:MG TOE, by jove, I think you are on to something, laser unit does look like a brick, Holy crap!

I instantly thought 'video game' when I saw the laser... But surely not, especially after I realised as it's on a book! I say something that uses a laser - I'm delving very deep here...

Its surely going to be the ability to plug alternate things into a slot on the bottom of Macbook's and macbook pro's. For instance extra ports, drives, dual batteries and future upgrades or options like Blue-Ray.

I doubt it, a dock is hardly 'huge'

I hope it's nothing to do with home automation

I'm starting to think "games console" but I really hope to be wrong on this one!

I know from a source deep deep inside the Apple cave that they are going to be releasing a series of desktop wallpapers that are just as cool as that image. The codename "brick" is just to throw everyone off the chase. These will be images in a similar style to the teaser image, and they will come in all the shiny iPod nano colors.

Just don't tell anyone I told you.

C'mon Guys...

Stop trying to "interpret the code." Personally, I think it is far simpler. Think about it... the laser pointer market was saturated for a while but then *poof* all gone. The truth is :apple: bought them all, made them "green" cause it sounds environmentally safe, threw on a little ":apple:magic" and will net $299 for the small one and $399 for the big one.

Personally, I am going to buy a lot of apple stock tomorrow, this thing is going to make me rich! I can't wait to get my hands on one!

To all those who think that 9to5 is pulling a publicity stunt...

They have no reason to do this. Know why?

1. They've established themselves as GOOD. How good? They've gotten REAL pictures before release. They've had stuff that Apple Legal made them take down.
2. The general consensus, therefore, is that they have a guy inside Apple itself who is leaking this info. Unless he is being directly misinformed by Apple, and provided he IS in there, he's going to know what they're doing.
3. Provided they do have a guy inside Apple, what would be the point of making things up? If you already have insider access to new products, why would you waste time with the misinforming business when the truth generates far more "hits"?

A gaming device? That's the first thing I think of when I see this image.

Optical data-channels for data bus / chips?

Maybe they have new chips / motherboard that use optics to transfer data at much faster rate?

Will we still have to put up with rediculous pal/ntsc/res/framerate/etc issues? How about the movie companies just recycling all their old digital stock without any care?
