dutch apple store says shipping within 24 hours

Yep..

I can't wait till the new one is released, I hope we'll get a dark metal MBP, I'd love to have an SSD. Still not sure if I should buy an 17" or 15" (assuming the 17" won't discontinue)...

It seems to me that increased ship times only tell us that the stock of the current models is getting low. Considering the Sandy Bridge chipset setback (a couple weeks), Apple's predictions of when to stop current model production may have been a bit off.

I predict March 1st.

My Cousin is gonna be so mad !! He just bought a 13" MBP on impulse last week... had been contemplating the purchase for a while, and decided to pull the trigger.... Think long, and you think wrong I guess !! Bummer:eek:

Unless he absolutely needed, it was rather silly of him to purchase a Mac laptop now if he wants to be on the bleeding edge. New chips announced in January and Apple not updating since April means the time is ripe for an update.

And hopefully they'll kill the Core 2 Duo. -_-

The Oz store is the same for the 13" (2-4 days) and 3-5 days for the 17"

Yeah, thanks.... he's not very up on what the re-fresh cycles are... I converted him to Mac a few years back and he's loved it ever since...
I suppose he still has a few days to return it.... as Kilamite wrote---:

I've got 13 days till the return period ends on my recent purchase, so here's hoping they get updated within that time.

I'm not so sure guys. I'm not saying that the article used retail employees, but if they did I'm sure you all have read the popular mechanics article yesterday where an apple retail employee spilled the beans on apple. Essentially apple expects them to learn about new products from official press releases only. I think it's safe to assume that apple has similar processes for support and admin staff and those not directly involved in the release. Obviously these will never be perfect but I highly doubt that every employee floating about the office has the low down on new product development. I'm skeptical until we get this triangulated with a few other sources

Almost daily rumours on the new MBP's now :)

Fingers crossed it's more than a spec update, the current one feels like it's been around for a lifetime now (even though nobody else has made a laptop as good looking since).

I just bought a MBP...

I just bought a new MBP on 2/11. I have two weeks to return it. They better at least announce a new one by then or else I won't know what to do...

aw mannn but that makes the wait soo much worse ahah cause it could happen any time. there are rumors about different dates but that doesnt mean it will be then for sure i really hope for before march 1st. even though i wont be gettign it until june..but still its cool to see the new info and specs and design online

Welcome to the world of Apple

There is a 14 day cool off period . take it back!!

Just looked at the Apple Online Store for Canada. Picked the 17" and selected the 2.8GHz processor.

A week ago that would change my availabilty from "In stock" to "1-3 days".

Today, that changes from "In stock" to "3-5 days".

Huzzah!

can't wait !

Wow I can not wait! This is gonna be my first Mac and I want to buy it already :)

Is it safe to assume the new MBPs will still have a 16:10 screen, and not 16:9?

Also I hope they keep the optical drive, how will people watch DVDs otherwise?

I do... I only had to put a hold on all purchasing last year to get to this far.. including x-mas ;)

I wanted to wait till this refresh but when the wife said "Get one!" a few days before Christams I placed the order right then and there on my iPhone and got me a 13" Air, and to be honest I'm glad I did.

SO even though I am not in the market for a laptop, I'm a Apple nut, so I am as interested as anyone to see what the the new MBP's will bring.

Time to put last year's MacBook Pro on Craigslist this weekend.

I bought the lowest 13inch macbook pro in July. I want to sell it on craigslist so I can the newest one. I drive to buy my Mac from a No-Tax state. I basically want to break even, any advice?

With not a moment to spare...

I returned my brand new MBP yesterday with just 24 hours left in my return period. I had heard nothing about the new model being released but when randomly skimming the blogs on my new MBP yesterday morning I saw so many articles from the same sites that I learned so much about the iPhone4 and iPad (incl. This one) last year that I started boxing up my mac on the spot. So stoked I still had all the packaging. They were totally chill at the store and took it back no questions asked but I think the kid at the store new what was up. He had a bit of a smirk on his face. It's gonna be an anxious couple of week for me. I'm about to head out to Europe for five months and wanted to have a new mac for my trip. Does anyone know if I'll be able to get one over there if the new models don't drop until after I depart? Do they launch worldwide simultaneously?
