Just hope it'll support my iPhone 4... Anyone got informations about this?

Apple are still selling the iPhone 4 as their base model. They'll keep on supporting it until the new iPhone is released and the 4S becomes the base model, same as they did with the 3GS.

Of course, iOS7 will be terribly neutered on the iPhone 4 for no good reason. Same reason why I can't get Siri or turn-by-turn navigation features of iOS 6 on my iP4 despite Google being able to bring superior voice recognition on Google Now and turn by turn nav on Google Maps on the same hardware.

I don't like the sound of it at all. But I shall withhold judgment until I see the implementation. I do trust Ive's judgment.

*Bracing for the proclamations from people who haven't used iOS 7 that it's the end of App...*

Oh. It has already begun.

didn't say it was the end of apple, i could care less what they do. my point is no new innovations. horrible.

Design is oblivious to software or hardware.

Oh really? I guess a software engineer for audi electrical system can design the outlook of the car too?

This update is going to be awesome for a few reasons. iOS has been way TOO colorful from day one. I think the external colors should do it justice for people on the new iPods and such. But for iphone users it's a color overload. As a designer myself, colors deserve their purpose but we don't want to over do them like today's examples in phones i.e. windows phone. Here's an example of a phone design I realy like that maybe iPhone is trying to compete against. Black and White just looks classier, it always has in business and for being non distracting to the eye however readable and clear. No one says our apps won't stay the same however if what is said in this post is even half true then I'm amped up! :) Also the panorama pic wallpaper sounds like a great idea.

P.S. Here is a phone that probably none have heard about however its really nice looking. It was only sold overseas. Prada makes great products and this happened to be made by LG.

I'd bet Jony is taking zero design cues from any of these other layouts. His genius is his OWN mind. And while I like the look, ios 7 is going to have its own unique spin that is nothing like you see herer.

Why do people think apps are going to be black and white now? I took the black and white comment to mean backgrounds and text not app icons. So lose the faux linen and green felt in place of black/white backgrounds.

I took it to be a reference to a very old silly riddle. This is one of those times where I think the sources are trolling all of you.

I'm probably out of place to point this out, but I'd just like to mention that nobody has SEEN ANYTHING yet.

Sorry to intrude on the discussion...

Innovation is the most overused word in the dictionary these days.

I think somewhere in the middle of all the trolling, moaning and whining that is happening here everyday the real meaning of this word was lost.

iTunes is bloated. No innovation. But what bloat or innovation is no one has a clue.

What does an engineer have to do with design? You're mistaking what design IS. Design is design. Jony understands design very well. He's no dummie. Its amazing how some of you on these forums seem to think YOU understand design better than an actual designer that's part of the worlds most talented consumer design team.

You really think you understand design better than Jony? Get over yourself, please. Jony's a very gifted person. And what exactly do you do thats noteworthy?

Btw, interesting that you've seen iOS 7 and can declare "no new innovations." Would you mind letting us see whats in iOS 7? We're all dying to know, since you have all the answers.

Just a 3rd party mockup (simplyzety.com) but I like the concept. It's clean. Aesthetic clean up is a good start BUT I hope iOS7 will bring in some improved functionality as well -- better app organization, search, and file storage, and a native mail app that can screen out spam for starters.

This looks great! It would be nice if you could change the colour you want in a particular app too to another one from a choice/colour wheel, so it would be white (or black perhaps) + a colour of the users choice.

I surely hope there´s more innovation to the iOS than just a visual overhaul. We need more features, such as better information based on the users own profile...a complete visual feed of whatever you personally like. Better camera features, better integration between the various apps, more user customized startscreen. Better interface to how you control and close running apps, switching between apps. etc etc. the home screen with apps works fine, everything else is starting to become cumbersome and stale compared to other phones. If the new iOS only feels like a winamp skin over the old features the iphone 5 might be the last iphone I will own for a while.

How about complicated UI stuff a la Iron Man?

How bout come up with a decent skinnable/themeable UI framework so people can decide what they want to use or create their own rather than ***** all over my computer/phone?

News flash: flat design has been around in graphic design for longer than most of us have been alive. It was not designed nor made popular by Google nor any other company. 1930s-1940s reinvented in the 1980s... reinvented once again in 2010ish. The reality is the circle of style has just come around again, 1980's influence in art and design is huge right now and has been in fashion since 2006 or so. All companies using flat design are flowing a trend not starting a new one.

This is going to get interesting ....

I think the upcoming WWDC will be a watershed moment for Apple. We will get some serious insight into the future... Steve has been gone for a while now, and it looks like Ive will be making a strong push to get his vision out there as fast as possible - at least from a UI Design perspective. This could go one of two ways ... I am optimistic. For now ...

It's amazing how many arm chair critics we have in here. Apple is going to do just fine with this release and Jony, I have no doubt, will create something that impresses us all.

People are going to complain about either direction Apple goes. Might as well just sit tight and wait a few more weeks and we'll find out for sure.

Well said

ugh yet another app on my homescreen i'll never use but cant get rid off.

i hope they tweaked the lockscreen, that silly arrow to unlock looks so 2007 and doesnt even work with the overall look on iOS6 anymore. not glossy and too fat.

weather icon needs to show the real temperature too ... whats the point of this silly 23 degrees logo (oh how i miss weathericon on cydia)

and lets not forget the forgotten notification center on the iPad which has nothing to show most of the time.

oh and if you want a preview of iOS 7, just take a look at the music app on your iPhone or iTunes on your computer

Well said

4 days in with my iphone 5 I'm starting to regret it now. Ios 7 sounds like doo doo. Hope the rumors are wrong.

I always said that color was just a fad. Bring back the days of black & white!

I'm privy to the iPhone/iOS roadmap. Here's what's coming after that...

2015 - iRadio. The LCD screen on the iPhone will be removed entirely. The iRadio will be bundled with free samples of classic Little Orphan Annie radio shows.

2017 - iRock. The iPhone will now fully evolve to a simple, beautifully designed piece of metal/glass with no icky electronic components whatsoever. You will communicate with others by chucking the iRock at the other person's head to get their attention.

How about live wallpapers? I mean droid has em... does it kill battery that much?

Unless your staring at your wallpaper for 4 hours straight. No it doesn't drain your battery. I had live wallpapers with my note 2. Battery life was normal.
