I'm anticipating some design clashes with 3rd party apps. Will Apple be issuing new design guidelines to app developers?
Just hope it'll support my iPhone 4... Anyone got informations about this?
*Bracing for the proclamations from people who haven't used iOS 7 that it's the end of App...*
Oh. It has already begun.
Design is oblivious to software or hardware.
didn't say it was the end of apple, i could care less what they do. my point is no new innovations. horrible.
This update is going to be awesome for a few reasons. iOS has been way TOO colorful from day one. I think the external colors should do it justice for people on the new iPods and such. But for iphone users it's a color overload. As a designer myself, colors deserve their purpose but we don't want to over do them like today's examples in phones i.e. windows phone. Here's an example of a phone design I realy like that maybe iPhone is trying to compete against. Black and White just looks classier, it always has in business and for being non distracting to the eye however readable and clear. No one says our apps won't stay the same however if what is said in this post is even half true then I'm amped up!Also the panorama pic wallpaper sounds like a great idea.
P.S. Here is a phone that probably none have heard about however its really nice looking. It was only sold overseas. Prada makes great products and this happened to be made by LG.
Why are you basing your opinion on something you haven't seen yet and no nothing about except what some rumor tells you?
Why do people think apps are going to be black and white now? I took the black and white comment to mean backgrounds and text not app icons. So lose the faux linen and green felt in place of black/white backgrounds.
Innovation is the most overused word in the dictionary these days.
I'm probably out of place to point this out, but I'd just like to mention that nobody has SEEN ANYTHING yet.
Sorry to intrude on the discussion...

Oh really? I guess a software engineer for audi electrical system can design the outlook of the car too?
Just a 3rd party mockup (simplyzety.com) but I like the concept. It's clean. Aesthetic clean up is a good start BUT I hope iOS7 will bring in some improved functionality as well -- better app organization, search, and file storage, and a native mail app that can screen out spam for starters.
only a moron would think Ive will fail.
What does an engineer have to do with design? You're mistaking what design IS. Design is design. Jony understands design very well. He's no dummie. Its amazing how some of you on these forums seem to think YOU understand design better than an actual designer that's part of the worlds most talented consumer design team.
You really think you understand design better than Jony? Get over yourself, please. Jony's a very gifted person. And what exactly do you do thats noteworthy?
Btw, interesting that you've seen iOS 7 and can declare "no new innovations." Would you mind letting us see whats in iOS 7? We're all dying to know, since you have all the answers.
ugh yet another app on my homescreen i'll never use but cant get rid off.
i hope they tweaked the lockscreen, that silly arrow to unlock looks so 2007 and doesnt even work with the overall look on iOS6 anymore. not glossy and too fat.
weather icon needs to show the real temperature too ... whats the point of this silly 23 degrees logo (oh how i miss weathericon on cydia)
and lets not forget the forgotten notification center on the iPad which has nothing to show most of the time.
oh and if you want a preview of iOS 7, just take a look at the music app on your iPhone or iTunes on your computer
How about live wallpapers? I mean droid has em... does it kill battery that much?
