This is an honest question: Do that many people go without a case that a protruding lens is a problem?

Here’s another qusetion for you specifically.
The underwear that you have on that nobody actually sees. Do you buy something you actually like or just pick up the first one of the right quality and fit in your size?

The bag that holds the camera rings says "Rose Gold" in Chinese on it. Maybe further indication there will indeed be a new colour

People complained because the lens stuck out by 1mm and they couldn't lay their phones flat on the table.
Honestly, I've heard it all now!

This just in:

Patent troll sues Apple for protruding 1 mm lens.

WhoCaresInc. claims it has had protruding everythings since 1966. Apple refuses to pay the patent fees of $ 1.00 per iPhone.

A class action suit was also started and the FCC is investigating.

New ad starting on youtube

1 mm is 1 mm , or it's not an iPhone.

The world is ending people!!!!!!!!!!!!

Around here nobody really uses a case any longer. I remember a few years ago, at the time of the 4/4S, almost everybody I saw with an iPhone used a case. That changed. I literally never saw an iPhone 6 with a case here.

I never understood why people did that in the first place. "I don't want to ruin my beautifully designed iPhone, so I slap an ugly case on it so it will always look neat, at least hypothetically" I just don't get it.

Apple's leather case is rather nice. iPhone 6 is way too thin and round and slippery to hold comfortably...

Projected camera ring...

Did they learn nothing?
This is honestly not such a big deal, for gods sake.
If it bothers you, buy a thin case (I hear Apple sells very nice thin leather cases...) and your phone will rest flat. And any sane person uses a case anyway, because even a thin layer of leather or something similarly flexible helps protect against those unfortunate situations where you drop your phone on a concrete or tile or stone surface.

So basically the new phones are going to look just like last years phones, just as Apple has been doing for years now. Shocking!

Yea but why is this consider a minor upgrade? this looks like an excellent upgrade - even if you have the Iphone 6 - it improves on every component and if you are on NEXT, JUMP or other program its a no cost upgrade.

The smartphones are rumored to feature an A9 chip with 2GB of RAM, Force Touch, a faster Qualcomm LTE modem, an improved 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, 7000 Series aluminum and more.

Hmm, if Apple doesn't want to increase the thickness of the phone, they could always implement my rather ingenious, non-hideous design change:

Presumably because he understands that in twenty years he will still be alive and will be surrounded by super cheap 4K or higher screens; and he wants his records of his baby's first walk, or his wedding, or his daughter's graduation or whatever to be in the best quality possible...

I do not understand people. You have ALL LIVED through 30 years of technology CONSTANTLY improving, yet you all constantly make decisions and express opinions that only make sense under the assumption that this is all going to stop, that 2015 is the year in which the improvements ended. (cf, for another example, the things people are saying about Apple Watch.)

It's a shame that Mr. Ive has seen fit to keep the protruding lens.

Not only does it look ugly, but it also attracts dirt.

Together with the lack of a 4" version, my woes only increase. Perhaps the iPhone 7 will be fit for purpose.

TwelveSouth BookBook case for iPhone does double duty as a wallet. It protects, organizes, and looks damn good doing it.

I constantly get compliments for the case.

I go without a case. If you read the iPhone section of this forum, there have been dozens of threads on this topic, and it is clear a solid portion of users go without a case. To me, it never feels or looks as good as it does without a case. I'm pretty careful with my iPhone, and I'd rather just risk having to get a new screen or a new iPhone than put a case on it.

So the protruding lens thing is a bummer for me.

Here's my logic. A pristine iPhone sells for a helluva lot more than one with dings and scratches and other cosmetic damage sustained over the year I usually own the phone. I rock the black Apple leather case on my 6+ which I don't think is ugly at all, as well as Tech Armor glass over the screen. When the 6S+ arrives, I shall pluck the 6+ from it's case, remove the glass protector, give it a little polish and sell that baby with a confident 10/10 quality rating. That's why I use a case.

As to the other guy asking about my underwear. *shrugs
