The bulge is related to sensor size vs thickness; so I'm guessing you wanted the 1mm thicker phone, seems that's what you're saying. Why not just say that then?

I may be a lowly pleb, but I would have hoped that in a year there would have been some improvements in sensor modules to fit a thinner one in, but who knows.

But taking the other approach:

*Tim Cook strolls onstage, holds aloft a near identical phone - except in some tacky pink/gold*

*There is a palpable tension, he maintains the silence for a good 20 seconds*

"2x faster processor.
5 hours extra battery life.
Force Touch with taptic feedback.
Stronger construction.
...1mm thicker"

*crowd erupt in hysteric jubilation. Ticker tape falls. Everyone spits on their old phones and dump them into a recycle bin located at the theatre exits*

I may be exaggerating :p

This is an honest question: Do that many people go without a case that a protruding lens is a problem?
That's not the point. Being forced to use a case is like turning up the volume of the music in your car because it's poorly isolated and you hear the engine and the road. And yes, many people don't like using cases.

I would love for  to remove the home button and implement force touch, making the screen size bigger keeping the 4.7" size OR shrinking the size to 4.5" and making screen bigger due to home button removed...

anyone would like this?

I skipped the iPhone 6 because of it’s protruding rear-facing camera lens. I will also skip the upcoming iPhone 6s when it has the same flaw. Sorry, Apple thinness isn't everything and it is not always a good design!

Hopefully force touch, new cameras, and a decent speed increase with the A9 chip.

Plus the features that, as an iPhone 5C owner, are still new to me. Like Touch ID, motion coprocessor, Apple Pay, etc etc

Can't wait for my iPhone 6S Plus xD

If Steve would be still around there is no way he would approved those hideous protruding lenses. His immersion in the philosophy of Zen deeply affected Apple design, his own purity of vision and sense of perfection in design simplicity. Not anymore.

Lens is pure circle
Aluminum pond ripple
I see Zen in that

:D

Why the hell do I need to do data crunching? I put the phone up for sale, I get at least $100 more for a 10/10 phone than a 9/10 phone on the site I sell them on. There's your data.

How do you know you get at least $100 more? Do you keep two identical iphones, one with a case and one without, and then sell them both at the same time?

You think you're getting $100 more. You're really getting $50 more.

More than condition of the iphone, the details in a ebay description and quality of pictures matter far far more in terms of final price and number of bidders.

I bet I can sell an 8/10 iphone on ebay for more than you get for your 10/10 iphone.

Holy crap, man. Give it a rest. I DON'T USE EBAY. The service I use uses a grading method to determine the sell price. A single hairline scratch on the case drops the quality rating from 10/10 to 9/10. How do I know I get $100 more? I have eyes. All the phones are listed together along with quality ratings. Someone that doesn't care about flaws can get a cheaper phone if they don't care about 10/10. Others want that perfect phone and I want an extra $100. Simple. Can you stop trying to friggin' disprove something I've been doing for years?

What service do you use?

not much circuitry used by iPhones now-days.. all taken up by battery space i bet..

Yes,, put your sticks away..

I'll take thicker, and get larger battery, optical zoom, more RAM, and non-protruding lens.

Plus, give us a polycarbonate option in rainbow colors, too! Metal is cold, slippery, and industrial.

First priority, however, would be extensive fixes to the interface and OS.

Practically speaking, I don't think the protruding camera is an issue.

However, I do think Apple deserves all of the crap that they are receiving. They are the ones that prompted this entire design to perfection mentality when first introducing the iPhone - iPhone 5s. All about smooth lines and clean finishes. Now they go back on the very same cool-aid they were selling. A lot of people drank that down, and now are rejecting the concept that it doesn't matter.

Should people have been drinking the cool-aid? Perhaps not. But this is exactly what Apple was trying to create. Now it is biting them.

What a complete non issue. If you have the phone in a case, which most people do, it really is a non issue. I've used my 6 caseless a few times and I've never had any issue with the phone wobbling. It doesn't protrude that much.
Except that’s a load of rubbish. In most walks of life you buy something you like the physical appearance of even if that appearance has nothing to do with it’s utility, also even when that part is hardly ever seen in normal use, be that by yourself or others.
I used an underwear analogy earlier. What they look like hardly makes any difference but you don’t pick up the first pair that fits do you?

Is the 6 or 6 plus not currently working as expected for you sir?

Everyone will have their preferences and what suits their needs. I can understand why that sentiment would exist - Coming from a 5s, for me, the 6 was simply not a big enough leap to justify the cost difference of a purchase: The iPhone 6 64GB cost me ~1050$ CAD unlocked with full Apple Care Plus; my current iPhone 5s 32GB model cost me exactly 380$ CAD unlocked with full Apple Care Plus

For that price difference, the 6 was not at all justifiable, especially given the small processor improvement of the A8 over the A7 and the fact Apple kept 1GB of RAM. Apple Pay was not something I cared about, and the bigger screen, AC wifi and relatively small camera improvements were not big enough to warrant that price difference either. Had I been coming from a 3gs,4,4s or 5/5c, I would have likely felt different and more positive about keeping the 6.

And, I submit that there is a chance that once the 6s is revealed, and that once the processor benchmarks are out in the wild, I will feel the same way about the 6S - that perhaps it too is not a big enough upgrade for my tastes to warrant that cost difference - but at least it holds the potential of a large upgrade over the 5s/6 spec wise.

Besides - Its always exciting when a new iPhone is just around the corner! Who knows what Force Touch could do - it could fall flat, but it could also be a new and revolutionary touch interface!

my subtle irony tone was obviously lost in translation.. what I was getting at was the fact that I recon most folk on this board have a ip6 or 6 plus, which they longed for, for months.. camped out over nite etc.. then not long into ownership, the merest snif of something shinier and the are ready to cast the object of previous desires aside like an old sock.. such a throwaway society.. sigh..

optical zoom with a non protruding lens.. good luck with that my friend..
