According to the trustworthy google translate Rose Gold is 玫瑰金. And to me this does not look like what is on the bag.

(in reality I do not trust google for anything, but there does seem to be a discrepancy here)
I'm half Japanese and grew up in Japan, so I have a decent understanding how Chinese symbols work...
There is always a HUGE descrepancy in how characters look handwritten compared to a font. That definitely says "rose gold' in Mandarin.

TwelveSouth BookBook case for iPhone does double duty as a wallet. It protects, organizes, and looks damn good doing it.

I constantly get compliments for the case.

+1.

This is a great case. I've had one for three years; it's still going strong.

This is an honest question: Do that many people go without a case that a protruding lens is a problem?

I would think the frustration comes from the fact that if the phone was a mere 1 mm thicker (a) the camera would not protrude and (b) a larger battery could possibly be accommodated. Furthermore, apart from a value on a spec sheet; would the overwhelming majority of users be put off by a device that's 1 mm thicker?
Making the back of the device flush by inserting it into a case seems like a missed opportunity in the name of chasing thinness - a virtue which adds little day-to-day usability value.

No offense m9, but that is one of the ugliest things I've ever seen in my life. I'm 100% sure that Jony Ive would cry if he saw his work in this case. It's literally the antithesis of his design philosophy.

In my defence, both the 4s and 5s included minor design changes to incorporate better / fixed components. The 4s even to correct the antenna grounding issue.:)

I mostly don't use a case and the camera bulge basically communicates that Apple don't care about making the best product anymore. They'll give people 99% and they'll just have to live with it.

The bulge is related to sensor size vs thickness; so I'm guessing you wanted the 1mm thicker phone, seems that's what you're saying. Why not just say that then?

You cannot be serious.

It's a beautiful case. I've seen nothing better. Yes, Ive would probably hate it because it's skeumorphic, but Steve Jobs would have loved it.

Jobs wins.

Design aesthetics are a matter of personal taste, and opinions vary.

The TwelveSouth case is an intentional design counterpoint to the sleek and contemporary design of the iPhone and Apple products more generally. It's not intended to be a case that looks like an iPhone. It's physical skeomorphism. It's anachronistic, evocative of personal libraries with rich leather bound volumes. And it's obviously not for everyone, you're a case in point.

No offense.

This just in:

Patent troll sues Apple for protruding 1 mm lens.

WhoCaresInc. claims it has had protruding everythings since 1966. Apple refuses to pay the patent fees of $ 1.00 per iPhone.

A class action suit was also started and the FCC is investigating.

New ad starting on youtube

1 mm is 1 mm , or it's not an iPhone.

The world is ending people!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can get behind this. A thicker iPhone for the sake of battery life alone would be welcome.

I'm a fan of the 6 case design, I really liked how it felt in the hand and the curved design as a whole felt great to hold

I'm interested in the 6s, but only as far as the tech goes - I'm hoping for a big spec bump over the 6, big camera improvements, and convincing force touch being implemented

I think force touch could be a game changer in UI, and perhaps the most significant addition to smart phones since the the advent of high resolution screens - provided its convincingly implemented

Am looking forward to September. Just a little over a month before we see what the 6S brings to the smart phone table.

It will give me much to think about come this fall when my phone contract finally expires.

Apple has returned to using a single flex cable for the iPhone 6s after splitting the flex cables for the iPhone 6, but otherwise that part and the Lightning connector assembly remain largely unchanged, which is unsurprising given Apple's "tick-tock" refresh cycle for iPhones. Apple typically makes major changes in a "tick" year (iPhone 6) while focusing on smaller improvements and refinements in a "tock" year ("iPhone 6s").

I wonder if intel will sue Apple for stealing their "tick-tock" cycle ?

You could've saved a lot of typing by simply stopping after your initial question.
The answer is yes. Been doing it since my iPhone 3G.

I didn't ask whether you've been doing it - a few data points aren't enough. I've asked whether you've actually done any kind of data crunching to confirm your belief. My data from 2 years ago shows that your belief is wrong - condition of an iPhone matters a whole lot less than people say. The dollars and cents confirmed it back then.

I can only think of three things that 'really' matter with the next iphone, the A9 SOC, if it has that 'Force Touch' system, and perhaps most importantly the camera.
With the majority of the new flagships out this year beating the iPhones camera, it will be very interesting to see what Apple do. I will be looking for sure..

Why the hell do I need to do data crunching? I put the phone up for sale, I get at least $100 more for a 10/10 phone than a 9/10 phone on the site I sell them on. There's your data.

The characters are rotated by 90 degree. You might have looked in the wrong direction. Note that there is "6s" right above the characters “玫瑰金”.

The leaked camera rings suggest that the "iPhone 6s" and "iPhone 6s Plus" could also have a protruding rear-facing camera lens, a design choice that Apple received some complaints over for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Particularly, some users expressed frustration at being unable to lay their smartphone flat on a table because the camera lens sticks out about one millimeter.

Solution: make iPhone 6S one millimeter thicker so lens doesn't protrude, then use that extra one millimeter of interior space for a larger/higher capacity battery. :D
