definitely a fake - i have zoomed the image up and circled 2 artifacts in the image. the first one is a straight line - probably an antenna that has been photoshopped out of the frame - it has left an area of white pixels over the macbook pro's keyboard.

the second one is some type of glow artifact on the left hand side.

The top circle is the headphone connected to the headphone jack. The bottom is just probably a reflection off the chrome on the iPhone.

It's not fake.

Those are the headphones and image artifacts.

this thing is coming out in one week. If these sightings were a few months ago, I would have gotten excited, however, as it stands, I'm inclined to believe they're real and not get very excited about them.

I want MY iphone, so people can take pictures of ME holding one.

in other news, I saw this weird looking guy holding one just a few days ago:

It cant be fake look at the reflection off of the phone it shows the outline of this guy. you would have to be really good a photo shop to do that

I believe it's a real sighting judging from the larger image that arn posted a link to. At any rate, you'll be seeing a ton of these around in just over a week, so not to worry. ;)

and if you look really close at the picture, the "artifact" by the guy's left hand is actually the headphone cable being bent by his middle finger and directed to the back of the phone. I used the curve balance in Photoshop to darken the image.

That app could easily be designed by Apple, it looks very familiar to me, design-wise, so that could quite easily make him an Apple engineer.

Larry Carter, senior vice president of sales for AT&T:
Over the last few months dozens of AT&T technicians have been secretly testing iPhones -- in bars, subway stops, office buildings, rural areas and elsewhere -- looking for technical hitches.

Digg buttons

Digg buttons (like the one below this article on the MacRumours homepage) add unnecessary clutter and have no place on a website that wants to be taken seriously... I'm just sayin'.

They are definitely being tested in the public by engineers:

Most people lucky enough to snag an Apple iPhone probably will be quick to show it off to friends.

Not Balsu Thandu. He got an iPhone more than two months ago and has been hiding it from prying eyes ever since.

Thandu is one of about 200 field technicians who have been secretly testing the iPhone and looking for technical glitches for more than 10 weeks and counting. AT&T routinely tests new devices, but the iPhone has been different, Thandu says. The technicians have logged more than 10,000 hours on the phone, including more than 5,000 hours of voice calls and near 5 gigabytes of data usage. Most phones, he says, get about half that much test time.

It goes on to say:

Doing dry runs with the world's most anticipated cellphone has been challenging. Tests had to be done in places frequented by wireless users. Under strict orders to keep the phone under wraps, technicians had to hide or disguise the phone when in public, Thandu says.

The disguises took many forms: an iPod "sock" was sometimes slipped over the iPhone. Other times, he says, testers kept the device inside a newspaper or pants pocket and used a wireless headset.

For the actual testing, technicians frequented all the places where consumers go: office buildings, subway platforms, stairwells, elevators, crowded bars, sprawling suburban malls and congested city streets. They also showed up incognito at Apple and AT&T stores.

Considering that AT&T has been testing the iPhone with their network, having "dozens" of technicians testing (that equals 24). The legitimacy of the sightings is of no consequence.

Well it looks like it's real.
You can even see the microphone so...
I think he was calling at the moment. :apple:

16gb?

Does anyone still think Apple will release a 16GB iPhone at launch? I think the fact that there are a lot of people with iPhones out there makes this seem like it won't happen, unless they were all given the 8GB model, meaning Apple would have 8GB/16GB models.

I guess one can always hope. If they did that at the last minute I would pick up an iPhone in a second. Still trying to convince myself it is worth the money and Apple wont come out with a better version in August for the same price.

Look closer, the 2nd one has the miniplug going into the top of the iPhone. The cord goes behind it which makes it appear it's coming out of the bottom. It's just hard to tell because the white cord blends in with the white MacBook.

Thats a Macbook Pro.

It's Aluminum if you look closer.

Has nobody noticed that the woman across from him is wearing a Disney shirt? Maybe that is a clue as to the 13th app! Something from Pixar. And do you notice she is drinking a Coke...there is the 14th app! A MyCokeRewards app.

And the fact that the man is wearing the same shirt in Vegas makes me wonder if the YouTube video that showed the various uses of the iphone is true and that it really does contain a personal deodorant app and a shower app as well!

BTW, lol at the big foot. That engineer should get fired!! He was supposed to disguise the iPhone, not wear one himself...sheesh!
