Its self-replicating.
Or Apple has no way to meet the expected demand so they've divided up the little stock they have, one box per store. There are more stores than there used to be!

Or... they want high demand to build even more hype, so they will deliver the other waiting 99,999 boxes to each store later.

my super secret contact tells me that the box itself is a replicator which can produce every future product as soon as it enters the mind of steve jobs.

I highly doubt that the box contains an actual product. If there was an actual product inside of it, why send only one? ;)

If anything, I think these boxes contain sales kits and brochures concerning tomorrow's announcement.

That would make a lot of sense. Probably some instructions on what to to teach employees to tell customers and how to setup the store after the large disaply come via overnight mail in the next few days.

I recognize the shirt & lanyard of the guy holding the box to be a nextbyte uniform.
They have wisely taken the text off the lanyard with photoshop but it is definitely a nextbyte uniform.
So i'll be going into my local nextbyte 2morrow morning :-D

A box.. Whoopteedoo...
Wake me up when theres some real news worth reading.

*clearly* the boxes actually DO contain the product. The fact that the iPhone is coming out tomorrow is just a rumor. In truth, they will be releasing the iPod Micro, Pequeno, and Invisa. That box can hold PLENTY of those.

The phone is being announced tomorrow, and will be available on the 16th.
Don't ask how I know that, because I can't tell you, but I swear that is the information that I have gotten.

The phone is being announced tomorrow, and will be available on the 16th.

Assuming the same AT&T vacation-less dates and last years release concincide again, and that the days in which they are forbidding vacation time has not been changed then I think the release date will be Friday, June 27th at 5pm.

You know, I can't reveal the source that told me this, but I can pretty much guarantee that we'll all know everything in about 17 hours

Hopefully there will be phones available on Mon. Need to replace a cheap phone that went through the wash last week!!!

Well last year the pallets of the iPhones didn't arrive until the actual day so I'm thinking that these are just training and advertising material and such. However it still reminds us tomarrow is the day. :D

The gentleman that came on here a couple of days ago and is now banned because he broke the rules was in fact real.

That's all I'm gonna say.

We only have 16.5 hours to go. All will be revealed.

This will actually be a fun WWDC for once.
Until then I'm gone.
:p

I have a hard time believing that not a single person wouldn't be deceptive and open the box.

If this is true, we might have displays to see tomorrow but no products to buy just yet, that would be a bummer.

it's a shame that's all you're going to say because i have no idea who that gentleman is or what he said.

If these boxes are for real then each store got to have received more then.... Normally large companies the size of Apple ship multiple units (often a few spares) as part of the PROCESS protocol to cover contingencies.

Also considering the amount of hype and anticipation that the iPhone has generated.... the number of ppl wanting to lay their hands on the hot new baby.... its just not practicle enough to have just one phone per shop.... If its for training purposes only and the iPhone is not coming out until a week or so then why not just ship it over very close to WWDC or may be a lil after the WWDC.... why let it out in the open if you dont want the beans to be spilled??

That being said.... either these boxes contain training materials or they are a hoax. In any case the contents of these boxes will not meet the public eye until the stores are stocked up with enough quantities to let everyone have a go at it....

Look, it's obvious Apple is going to release or at least announce something at WWDC because of what has been cropping up in the iPhone 2.0 firmware, and the fact Steve is doing a keynote.

Chances are, a store like Regent Street will get promotional items, or an early store unit because it's a flagship store.

I'm calling this one genuine.

Or even if the picture isn't genuine, the fact remains that some Apple Stores will have items in the stores related to what Steve is going to talk about tomorrow.

It's common sense.

Edit:
Or... they want high demand to build even more hype, so they will deliver the other waiting 99,999 boxes to each store later.

worked for Nintendo ;)
