That is a few good question. This is my thoughts on why we haven't heard much in the United States.

AT&T stores maybe more tight lipped about the launch because of the leaks last time around. The Apple stores may be the same.

I was watching Foxnews yesterday and they were talking about the new iphone. They said their inside source at AT&T said monday is launch day.

I saw Steve Jobs today with a birthday present in his hand... I think it's the next iPhone! Quick! Everyone turn into an angry iPhone 2.0 mod!:p

Fox News with reliable sources?! What country do we live in now-a-days!:)

Max says "There better be a new 3G iPhone in that box, or there will be hell to pay"

Henry agrees :)

I'm not doubting the validity of the boxes. But I would think that unless this newer iPhone is DRASTICALLY different than the first, why would you need all the training material to be so secret? If rumors hold true it is just new functions the phone can do. All of these training materials are for that one more thing...

The boxes have to be fake. But who really cares? It'll all be hindsight tomorrow.

For what it's worth, note the size difference between the "original" mystery box, it's label and the new one. The new box appears to be larger than the original.

Apple is too meticulous about their packaging to send products, especially new ones, out in odd-sized boxes. If they existed, I'm sure they'd all be the same size with the same contents. UnLESS.........conspiracy........

There is more than one new product arriving in mystery boxes....... *queue mysterious sound effect*

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)

if you take a close look at the box, the seam running down the middle splits the box in half. You could fit approximately 5 gen 1 iPhone boxes in both the top and bottom of that box. Thais the answer, each box contains 10 new 3g iPhones in their respective boxes.

Haha, I was talking to an Apple employee yesterday in the store and we were talking about all these Rumors (10.6, iphone, tablet, etc...) and we were commenting on how INSANELY crappy it would be if steve didn't show anything new =P

The employee was like "imagine if he introduced the new iPhone and it looked exactly the same as the current ones!"

haha :p

just to clarify.

The photo is just some photo sent in. It might easily be fake.

That being said, Ars is reporting that London Apple store also received a locked down box. This is independent of the Australia story.

If I saw people taking those photos seriously, i'd follow up and send out some boxes!

In today's world of modern logistics, don't you think it's easy enough for a major organization to time the deliver packages exactly when they want to?

Somebody is laughing pretty hard.

The gentleman that came on here a couple of days ago and is now banned because he broke the rules was in fact real.

That's all I'm gonna say.

We only have 16.5 hours to go. All will be revealed.

This will actually be a fun WWDC for once.
Until then I'm gone.
:p
it's a shame that's all you're going to say because i have no idea who that gentleman is or what he said.

This is the person/thread in question: https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=5542760#post5542760

If you haven't read through it, it's an interesting read. Enjoy.

I call schenadigans (sp?) on the box!

Who cares - we'll know everything by this time tomorrow (or will we?).

I still have a hard time believing it, but we will find out later today!!
