I'm against leather in general (and no matter what Apple says about being carbon neutral there is *no* way to make leather without a lot of pollution), but even if you like leather why make it look like styrofoam?

Yeah, exactly. For a company that touts environmentalism you would think they would stop producing leather related products or at least find a more eco friendly alternative material. Other than the pollution issue, there is also the horrible breeding industry where animals are skinned alive especially in places like china.

i guess I am in the minority. I actually prefer the black one in this over the normal black ones. The brown one I wouldn’t mind either. Other Colors wouldn’t go well with leather - or so years of fashion has conditioned me.
Definitely would question the security of the loop. Seems easy to drop.

Something better will be available on Amazon for 1/5th the price.

I'm wearing a Space Black band on my Series 4 that looks exactly like Milanese loop Apple is selling for $99. I paid $20 for it. Fits perfectly with the magnetic bad and all that.

Only people Apple is making money off of is with this stuff is people with buckets of money to waste....

I bought a third party space black milanese loop for my series 4 from Amazon, but after a few months of use, the color started to rub off on some parts of it, looking silver/stainless steel color. There are a ton of third party sellers, many of them using the same pictures. I did my best to read reviews and go with the one that seemed best.

I don't consider myself particularly rough with my watch, and I even thought about buying another third party milanese loop, because for the price, replacing it isn't so bad. But I went ahead and got the official Apple version, and have been pleased with the better weight and quality. It hasn't rubbed off because I don't believe there's any color to rub off.

Sigh... the search for a nice quality leather band continues.

Actually Nomad's watchbands are quite solid and well designed. I got the black stainless steel one and I love it for the look, feel and weight. Looks like Nomad found another opportune business after their charger got super hyped when Airpower died ;)

I must be dreadfully behind the times. I look at these and all I can think is a kids watch band made with premium materials.
It does look like something for a kid. Doesn’t look like leather, either. Just my opinion, but why pay extra for leather, if it doesn’t look like it. The same look could be achieved with a cheaper material.

I was hoping this was a joke or some knock-offs floating around. I'm now thinking it's their new collaboration with Fisher-Price.

Did anyone notice she’s wearing the blue one inside out? The markings are on the outside.

While the current version of the Leather Loop fastens with a loop-style closure similar to the Sport Loop, the new model attaches to the wrist magnetically.
This sentence seems rather misleading. Both bands attach to the wrist magnetically. The existing Leather Loop simply folds over for additional security, before attaching magnetically.

I’m thinking that without the extra security of the fold through the other end, they may have upped the strength on the magnets. I’m wondering if resting your arm on a metal table/countertop is going to look a bit like the Captain America elevator scene, trying to get your wrist back.

The pink one might be pretty. Haven’t decided yet. Need better pics.

To all the people saying “it looks too puffy” - remember, you’re poring over close-up pics. It’ll look different in person, at arms length.

It's technically not even a "loop", one side of the band doesn't loop through the other.
Also worth noting that these leather straps are NOT a loop strap!
I mean, technically, most all watch bands loop around your wrist. These are leather and they loop. The existing Leather Loop loops around your wrist and then folds back upon itself (a fold is not a loop) after going through the “buckle”.

Also, Apple is not calling these Leather Loops. Apple isn’t calling them anything. They are, at best, unreleased products. It’s not at all clear that Apple will release them, or what they’ll call them if they do, or if they’ll knock the existing Leather Loop out of the nest.

Ok. Everybody agrees these are ugly. So why change the design of the loops?
Because there won't be any new features, that's why!
No, everyone does not agree that they’re ugly. And I’ve seen no proof that these will replace the existing Leather Loops.
