What I don't understand about the Camera Ring.

The iPhone has apps that use the phone as a spirit level, so you lay the phone on a desktop or a shelf and can check it's dead level or at an angle a bit.

How will this work on an iPhone that has a camera ring sticking out on one corner, so it's either not level or wobbles if you touch it?

So you will need to buy a case to use the phone like this?

Screen protectors on the current iPhones are necessary if you want to keep the screen from becoming scratched. I have OCD and take VERY good care of my phones and have still managed to acquire fine scratches just from normal everyday use. I also prefer an anti glare protector which resists the awful finger prints. So stop telling people what to stop doing and let people make up their own minds on what they want to do.

Depends on your usage I suppose, but I've never had a screen protector and I've never had scratches on my screen. I also make a point not to do things like placing my phone on tables upside down.

Screen covers change the appearance of the display, resulting in glare, distortions and less saturated colors, and they mess with the responsiveness of the touch screen.

I do use Apple's fitted leather case for my phone, which not only protects the scratch prone aluminum housing but also makes it more comfortable to hold and less prone to slip out of my hand.

All this "ugly" chatter reminds me of the iPhone 5 leaks that everyone thought looked awful. Now everyone loves the iPhone 5 lol. Same goes for the iPhone 4 too.

You'll all come round to it sooner or later.

but they're too thick, clumsy looking.

Also, I don't think it's too thick. But to know for sure I need to know the material and color they use. From the latest leak color seems to be OK. Apple always use premium material so if that's the case I think the band will be alright.
And nothing's clumsy about it. Are you for real? Ha. Ha.
Of course like I said, I'm beginning to have a sympathy for your employer already so I'm not surprised at all if you find it hideous. :)

Yup, it's not a great phone but I think there is some smart design there (the bottom bezel detailing is a bit poor though), I even like the rubberised back, no breaks, easy to grip, resistant to marking up in a bad way...

agreed, looks nice and different.

Anyone mentioned that this is actually the Goophone i6?

http://www.goophone.net/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=60

The guy opened almost all apps but never opened the AppStore. We all know what AppStore is hiding underneath.

Meh, display is still too small. Looks like I'll be going with the Note 4 since Sony isn't releasing an upgrade for my Xperia Z Ultra :(

I know everyone laughs at the fact that all the Apple is Doomed is BS but without SJ's eye for detail, ability to pick a masterpiece it will never be the same. Beats deal, Retail Princess hire, JIve hiring his BFF, weird ip6 design to say the least, its all getting alil strange. Apple's image is slowly turning into a WildWildWest theme.

Yes its sad. I buy things out of functionality and not out of vanity. I can see purchasing things that are beautiful but not a phone . My Priority are a lot of different from others I guess?

I buy iPhones every 2 years because they are the best for what I need. Also, there are no smartphones made in USA, afaik all the current smartphones are made in asia, also materials are there already. I still don't see how that has anything to do w the statement that premium things are being manufactured in china and your priorities?

Well spotted. They can't surely get away with that? You think all these leaks are actually of the Goophone just to fool everyone? Well if you're right that would be the most amazing double bluff in corporate history and an amazing piece of trickery from Apple.

Seems more likely that someone from Goophone illegally obtained the iPhone 6 schematics some time ago and simply copied it.

This is going to be one interesting reveal on Tuesday.

I guarantee you have fine scratches on your screen if you look closely. I have never seen an iphone that is used daily without a screen protector that doesn't have fine scratches. Even my friends who say "I don't use a screen protector and I have no scratches" I've been able to show them where they DO actually have scratches. To each is own. I don't tell anyone they should use a screen protector and that they are stupid not to. I don't care who uses them or not. I just know for a fact they do protect the screen and I choose to use one.

Let's put it this way. I can't see any scratches on my phone but I can see and feel a screen protector on friends' phones.

Is an iPhone of 2014 out already ;)
It's reported it's a 1704 x 960 resolution screen. That's not 1080p either. Not that it matters but the original comment was disparaging the other phone for not being "full" hd.

I agree with this, I think Jony Ive is a great designer but Steve Jobs had a great eye for detail and working together they produced some of the greatest industrial designs so far this century. Now Jony has free reign (it seems) the little touches seem to be disappearing and the overall aesthetic starting to lack cohesion. A little more like all the other big manufacturers that seem to fit designs around parts they have or throw in ones that don't really fit (camera). I know there are physical limitations to camera depth but then use that as the minimum depth for the device maybe...

Like allowing attackers to try as many times as they wish for customers' passwords to pull something out of their servers.

An unfortunate oversight which a) they corrected immediately and b) had nothing to do with the celebrity photo thefts. Just look at Apple's track record on security compared with everyone else's.

PCs and Android devices are synonymous with malware, while OS X and iOS users are rarely impacted, without needing any extra security software .
