It's been mentioned already but I will state it again. If you're a big fan of the Beatles you most likely have their recordings already. Nice addition to iTunes but not as big of a deal Apple is making it out to be (of course this only applies if this the only announcement Apple has tomorrow).

I'd rather stick forks in my eyes than listen to the Beatles. No talent hacks. Ringo sucked at drums.

Wow. You wore a helmet to school didn't you?

Are there any announcements for anybody under the age of 50?

The Beatles are still relevant... to anyone. Except, however, for ignorant people like yourself and the special dude above. Seriously, if you don't feel like this has anything to do with you, then why comment about it?

If I had an iPod filled with Beatles music, I'd put it in a
Microwave oven and put it on high for 10 minutes...

10 minutes? Nooooooo. Your microwave should have a cooking guide printed on the inside where it recommends "Beatles music: Press "#9, #9, #9"."

And, the co-owner of the rights to the Beatles music is Sony. Recall, just a few weeks ago when discussing what Apple could do with their stash of cash there were rumors about them buying Sony. Maybe they bought the large catalog of music that was co-owned by Sony and Michael Jackson, which just happens to include the Beatles songs. That would be another major boost to Apple's stock and also a boost to Steve's ego.

As for me, this announcement is not really all that exciting because I already have all the Beatles music on my iPod and have no need to purchase it again.

Vicky ... you just may have been the one to nail this right on! It may even be Apple buying Sony ... mega Billions made overnight

quick, buy Sony stock!

Really, ask yourself whether you would spend your valuable time watching women singing and dancing versus men singing and dancing.

I rest my case!

Yet I bet you enjoy watching men wrestle/tackel with each other in the activity known as football or any other sport.

Sure. Why not toss in that Apple is buying Microsoft and Ford to while you are at it. I mean since we are just making up ridiculous scenarios. (Apple isn't buying Sony).

What? Less than 23 relevancy?

Why would apple consume customer loyalty and level of expectation with such irrelevant announcement? Beatles is a history for us who're not older than 23 or something. If Apple's calling for attention like this it has to be relevant to us too.

One does not need to be older or younger than 23 to appreciate the musical genius and talent of the Beatles.

Even my kids, who are 10, 8 and 5 realize a good song and beat when they hear it - put down your PS3 controller and turn up your Eminem...

Your case is not closed...If I want to see someone naked, and listen to some ok music- I'll listen to and watch women. If I want to hear good rock n roll- a kick*ss guitar solo or an awesome riff on the keys (Ray Manzerek)- I'll listen to and watch some dudes. I think you re mixing up looking at something sexy, and listening to good music.

Couldn't have said it better myself - while I hope for more than the Beatles - I am more than happy to accept a digital library of one of the greatest group of artists...

What exactly does that have to do with over hyping a nearly 50 year old band? Seriously. Next thing you know Apple is going to start touting the availability of Shakespeare in the iBooks store.

Not sure why you would make an assumption that I'm a homofob just because I don't find any entertainment from men singing and dancing. Maybe you like it. ;)

Wouldn't it be great if people could S*T*F*U about the whole gay issue. Grow up, S*T*F*U and focus on more important issues in life. Is everyone here 13? A bunch of John McCains?

So sad.

Ringo's still cool.

Anyway, the Cirque show Love ruined the Beatles for me. Ever since I saw it in the summer of '09, I can't listen to them anymore.

Interesting take. My wife and I saw it too and neither of us liked it. I have the surround DVD-A of the soundtrack and absolutely love it, though.

The big news of the day has been Apple's iTunes-related announcement scheduled for tomorrow, and one of the rumors that has been gaining traction in the hours since the news broke is that Apple may finally have struck a deal to bring The Beatles to the iTunes Store. The report from Billboard hints at other reasons may finally be the day that The Beatles come to iTunes, although it is unable to share all of its information.

The rumor of course leads some to question whether such an announcement would be worthy of a hype-filled front-page teaser on Apple.com, but there is no special media event accompanying tomorrow's announcement, and it is unclear if any other news besides The Beatles would be included if it is indeed in the works.

On one final note, MacRumors yesterday did receive an unconfirmed tip that The Beatles would be coming to the iTunes Store on Wednesday, November 17th. Such unconfirmed rumors are not uncommon (although things have been relatively quiet with regards to The Beatles since the lead-up to Apple's September 1st music-focused media event) and this one included no details we could use to follow-up or verify, but perhaps is worth noting in light of today's events.

don't care for them.:apple:

Nope. It only applies to men. So, if you are a woman listening to women serenading, you're okay. :)

Well that is just fantastic news, since I do enjoy a nice woman's voice singing a lovely serenade and I wouldn't want to have to give up straight sex so that I could enjoy it.

[really long post using Beatles' song titles to tell a story about this quite overhyped announcement (if it is, indeed true)

I like you.

(only if you made that up yourself)

No talent hacks? Lol. While they weren't exactly virtuosos on their instruments by any means, McCartney and Lennon are widely regarded as two of the most imortant song writers of all time. Not to mention that the Beatles were one of the most influential bands ever. Assuming you don't listen to garbage for music, I'm sure many of the bands you listen to enjoy the Beatles themselves.

As for Ringo sucking, I disagree. Sure he's no Neil Peart, but part of what makes a good drummer is making sure your part fits in well with the rest of the band. Keith Moon for instance would have probably sounded like crap with pretty much any other band, but his parts fit perfectly with kind of music The Who played.

I sincerely doubt anyone has been holding off buying digital copies of their discography this long because they were waiting for iTunes.

Speaking as a Beatles fan, I've already got their music in my iTunes library because I put it there myself. The remasters have been out for a few years now and I can be pretty certain my rips are going to be higher quality than anything I can buy on iTunes.

I suppose they could plug in some iTunes LP extras, but how many people are going to go crazy over some digitized liner notes?
