Yeah, I have to agree, if this is just the Beatles, that is weak. I suppose there is some argument to be made that the biggest musical act ever coming to the biggest music retailer is big news for that retailer but a press release would have sufficed for me.
I am hoping 4.2 comes out tomorrow in conjunction with this. That might make me forget my disappointment. :)

Why would apple consume customer loyalty and level of expectation with such irrelevant announcement? Beatles is a history for us who're not older than 23 or something. If Apple's calling for attention like this it has to be relevant to us too.

If it's true, ti's not worth taking down the macbook air page..s hould just be a press release, that's it.

Apple always does this to make people come up with stupid crap to believe in.

Something big will hit tomorrow. The beatles might just be a little side note.

My bold prediction ... no sources, no nothing just a bold dumb prediction:

iTunesTV Network. - Watch TV in iTunes. only $xx/month.

This would change the TV game as we know it. All your TV channels on your MacBook/iPad/iPhone streamed to your AppleTV via AirPlay.

Anyone digging this idea or what ?

Paul is dead

This kind of record cover speculation is probably about on par with those who said Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced with a lookalike because Paul was barefoot and out of step on the Abbey Road cover.

Ugh. So little to get excited about, if this is the only announcement. Anyone who cares about the Beatles and digital music that much has already moved (either legally or illegally) the Beatles into their iTunes library, and has done so with recordings (and artwork) as high quality (if not better) as iTunes will deliver when their catalogue is released officially on iTunes.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer. I'd love to see the Beatles come to iTunes. I just hope this isn't the only announcement tomorrow. Hopefully they'll release some kickass stuff, and this will be a "one more thing."

Bah. Humbug...

If it's (just) the Beatles, then I've already forgotten what day it is.

Any Beatles fan will have already converted their CDs to their iPod, they're not waiting for Apple to do it for them.

Having the Beatles, just makes Apple and Apple Records more money selling to the impulse buyer and the people who don't already have the tracks.

IMHO...

Who cares about the beetles on iTunes bs. Honesly those who are fans are have their songs on cd ripped into their computer and those who want beetles are not enough to warrant a special announcement!!! Jeez the artist have an overwhelming sense of importance.

Because without the artists, we would have no need for the iPod, iTunes, etc.

They aren't meant to be directly comparable to each other; only that the 4 clocks equal the four band members, and the hands of the clocks are in different positions as are the arms of the band members.

So it could just as easy be the Village People with the 4 guys doing the letters of YMCA..

Of course, because Apple would advertise one band (a popular band admittedly) coming to iTunes as a day to remember for the rest of your life. Right.

Yes, I have to agree with this. If this is the case then I have lost faith in their ad department. This is hardly a day I will remember if this is the case. Its not like you couldn't walk your @$$ to the store, buy The Beatles cds, and then rip them to your itunes.

This has to be something bigger. Maybe it's the could based iTunes and its using The Beatles as the poster boy, much like Apple used Coldplay for Ping (kind of).

And as far as the clocks go. I think it's just the time Steve Jobs is up by and had his cup of coffee.

I think buying the remasters down-sampled to 256k is a mistake. Better to buy the CDs and rip them in ALAC.

I agree 100%. I did this with every one of Sinatra's CDs long before the albums made it on the iTunes Store.

Scouring Beatles album covers for clues -- I love it! :D

Unfortunately, I have it on good authority that the teaser actually refers to the re-release of Natalie Cole's posthumous duet with her father Nat King Cole… Unforgetable ;)

I could see THIS warranting a front page announcement, but also a media event along with it. Ditch the cable/fiber companies for good!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

Wishful thinking, obviously. Only one clock-and-Beatle is close.

I honestly don't know what to speculate. I just hope it isn't The Beatles on iTunes. I love 'em, but not enough for most anyone to "never forget tomorrow".
