no X on wintel
making OS X avaliable for wintel machines is something apple would never do. as someone mentioned before, apple's software is designed to work with a specific type of hardware. windows' big problem is that with the many different types of processors and hardware out there, it it hard to make the software compatible with everthing that is out there. if apple decided to make os X for PC, it would have to do the same thing microsoft did with windows, and that would probably make os X an incredibly slow piece of software, especially on PC. and if X worked well on PC, apple still would not do it for the fact that apple hardware is more expensive than PC hardware. yes, mac hardware is of great quality, but face it, PC's are much cheaper (and yes, i know they suck, there isn't a working PC in my house). if you could run OS X on a PC machine and it worked just as well as it did on a mac, you would probably go out and buy a PC box to run it, especially if you were on a tight budget (like me) =)
i do think we will see the introduction of the flat panel imac with faster G3 chips possibly reaching 1Ghz, and hopefully a faster graphics card. i do not think the G5 will be released, but it may possibly be announced and demoed, with apple taking pre-orders (possibly). speed-bumped G4's with Apollo chips reaching 1ghz and up. mabey some sort of new device for the digital hub. we will have to wait and see.
