Apple really should consider bringing Watch support to Android, I bet they'd sell even more given the sorry state of WearOS and the dusty old chips Qualcomm has been providing.

Nice.
Got the Series 4 battery is ehh but will make the jump to the Series 7 when it comes out.

Garmin is on the board!

Somebody's got to give Apple sime competition since Android watches apparently cannot.

Not me. Still waiting for a watch with at least week long battery life, smarts and non-feminine design. Until then it's just a redundant phone accessory that creates an unsightly tanline on wrist.

I am one of those that felt the Apple Watch will flop-and I would like to remind how it was advertised as a luxury item not a gadget with designer like Hermes- maybe it could continue to exist like a niche or smaller product like Apple TV but its not going to be the next big thing. 100 million is a smashing success.

I do not understand why would people want to wear an Apple watch when most of them carry a smartphone. I could see it succeed if they still had a Nokia phone, but the smartphone that is always with me any way can do much more than this watch that is stranded on my wrist. I do not get it...but people will be people...

If only a technology existed that could charge your watch through kinetic energy or photosynthesis. In the case of a smart watch it would likely just offset the use but it all helps in extend the life to make it more acceptable as a wearable/timepiece.

I wish they would be able to give you the data Whoop can offer you. Cannot be that hard. I hate to say it but I don't like paying 20 companies 10-20 bucks per month (Streaming services, fitness, news ... ) it's getting too much.

Yeah, you are not the market.

I don't want my phone out all the time, but there are things I need notification on. I am a member of the market for this device. I love mine, and am looking forward to upgrading with the next release.

For me it’s all about the fitness features. I’m on my third watch. I bought the first one expecting to use the screen a ton, never happened. What I paid for the watch is a great value to me if it helps and encourages me keep fit.

Series 5 watch owner here (first Apple Watch I've worn).

I decided to get it when it was on sale. Not long after the Series 6 watches launched, I decided to see if an Apple Watch was right for me. It has been a delightful experience so far.

I like that you can see/reply messages very easily. And now in this day of wearing masks, I like that I can just use my watch to use Apple Pay. And with one of the later iOS updates, I can open my iPhone while wearing a mask because I am using an Apple watch.

Only thing that I wish were better (and you've already heard this 100000 times) is better battery life. But other than that, it's really been one of the better tech purchases I've ever made.

I saw a documentary on US women volleyball team (the one that just won gold) yesterday and it seems like everyone is wearing one. 😳

I still don’t understand why they avoid the circular case - some of their coolest complications are also circular. Even today, 99% of the watch ads I get feature a round dial. The rectangular case is not as common or popular for watch wearers. The watch is functional but also an accessory with individual tastes. I don’t want something that looks like an iPhone on my wrist - that gets hidden in my pocket.

Where is the competition for the Apple Watch, that is actually good?
There isn't any, IMO. I recently tried, and tried hard, to find one.

That graphic with a ROUND watch looked promising…🥺
To each their own, but I don't get this "watches should be round" thing. Of course they had to be round when we told time by way of mechanical or electo-mechanical watches and clocks with physical hands. But that's so last-century. Not that there isn't a place for them. For dress wear I'm still inclined to don my gold Citizen watch. But, for a "watch" that's also a wrist-worn data device, rectangular is a much more efficient shape.

Where does Fitbit fall?
I don't know, but, when I recently considered replacing my Apple Watch with a FitBit I was soon dissuaded after reading all the horror stories of poor reliability, a complete lack of post-warranty repair, and unspectacular build quality.

The SE was a very good move. Stripped away the fancy features and made an affordable "core" model.
Indeed. I upgraded my Series 1, Gen. 2 to an SE. Love it.

Love my Apple Watch, but happy to see a local to me company, Garmin (shout out to Olathe, KS!), ...
They have a lot more moving to do. I tried a Garmin Venu Sq. Took it back after two days. Not nearly as readable in sunlight, inaccurate HR measurement. Erratic and inaccurate blood oxygen measurement. Utterly worthless vibration and chime.

Apple really should consider bringing Watch support to Android, ...
Presumably they believe having the best smart watch on the market will encourage more people to go with an iPhone than they will make from supporting the Watch on Android. For me, that is unfortunate, because I will almost certainly be moving back to Android. Being as there's no acceptable replacement for my Apple Watch, that means I'll no longer be wearing a smart watch.

Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m guessing since Apple has a monopoly on the Apple watch, it, too, shall soon be deemed “essential” :)
Unlike iOS and Android there are many alternatives to the Apple Watch, although Apple might not be helping that case by bragging about being "the only consumer device to take an ECG"...
