Ordered mine 55 minutes after pre-order launch.

:apple:Apple Watch Sport 42mm Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sport Band
Delivers: May 29 - Jun 11

Mine is due to me by the 20th and may end up going right on ebay. I can certainly wait longer and wouldn't it be wonderful if my Apple Watch Sport paid most of the way to the Stainless Steel upgrade?

got my space grey sports on launch. Ordered @ 12:03. Went on ebay. Watch paid for itself bam.. Actually little short. I will have to chip in $12.94 for a 42mm sport. Ill wait

Well FWIW I ordered the wife a 38mm Sport with white band yesterday and it just shipped today. The 42mm is still scheduled for July, so I'm guessing that there's huge variance based on size and color.

Where did it ship from? Pa?

The tracking # doesn't yet have details. I'm in Canada, so based on previous Apple purchases it could be from US, Canada, or China. I'll update when I find out.

EDIT: Shipped from Concord, expected delivery tomorrow.

Does anyone have their 42mm stainless steel link bracelet? I ordered April 10 3:05AM. I have not seen anyone with one yet. My shipping estimate is still May 13-27.

Haven't seen any movement on my 42mm SS Link Bracelet at all.

I originally purchased the 38mm Aluminum Sport With Blue Sports Band
and the 42mm SS Link Bracelet.

Both were purchased on the 19th of April at around 11:45 pm.

What shocked the hell out of me was that i got a "Preparing for Shipment" literally within the next 2 business days for the sport version and then bam at the door on the 24th (Lucky)

However, the SS watch I knew I would be in for the long haul. I am just patiently waiting HOPING that it will comes in sooner than June, but who knows...

If you do see any movement on yours let us know. It would make me feel better knowing that a 42mm SS LB shipped ahead of the original dates communicated.

i beg to disagree. when i ordered the watch, i was obviously aware of the pre-order, but no window of delivery was posted, until after the confirming order email was sent. I was originally hoping to order and pick up at store. i would have gladly waited the 2 weeks for a store pick up.

Well, I have no idea how you ordered. But on every product on the Apple Store there is a window. The 38mm Silver Aluminium Case with White Sport Band in the UK shows a 2-3 week delivery time frame. The new MacBook shows 3-5 weeks.

but having people who pony up for the higher priced model sit with their thumbs up their rear-ends

You can sit around doing what you want with your thumbs. It's a few weeks later than you expected, but right within the window they promised when you ordered (but you missed the info unfortunately).

while the cheap-o model get distributed strikes me as wrong.
IMHO

I have no idea why you think buying a different price tier changes anything. They're making and shipping them as fast as they can. It's not like Apple gave all staff a 2 week holiday to celebrate a successful pre-order.

Even the iPhone is in short supply every year. And that's a product for which they can roughly predict demand for based on years of sales data, and it's not a customisable product. Samsung are struggling with S6 orders too.

Without stockpiling millions of watches in multiple combinations - which would've been absolutely stupid of them - they've done the next best thing. Try to predict demand and then fulfil orders the best they can. They've obviously got the predictions wrong - and some people will get there watches a few weeks later than they expected. No big deal, and obviously anyone is free to back out and cancel.

I think that Angela Ahrendts blew the entire roll out into any un-apple format style.
IMHO

I beg to disagree. :)

Want an apple watch now?

I ordered a 38mm classic buckle yesterday 5/4/15 at 3pm. Shipping estimate 2-3 weeks. This morning woke up to preparing to ship and card charged. I'm in the midwest. So if you dont want to pay scalpers and want a watch I would suggest that config. And on the upside this is one of the only config's that you can change the band. You will need a pentalobe screwdriver and your able to swap to any 22mm band.

Not rant...reason

Still "Processing" my order of the SG Sport. May 13 - 27 ship date when only 7min after preorder. Only reason for that 7min was a change made for address since NO IN STORE PICKUP was available! Worst launch I have ever seen from apple and not just because I have not received one yet. Really, they make one version of this SG. You would think they would understand the need to make MANY more of this type for the launch... but no, doesn't seem that way.

end rant.

What you said was not rant but reason. The Apple reps initially were emphatic that in store pick up was going to happen. They also said the bands were not interchangable. A huge majority of the comments on blogs everywhere object to this "launch" scheme. Among other issues, the webisite was NOT live at :01 PERIOD. I was on it, the phone and the app. I had pre-loaded address, credit card info and enabled one click pay...all with an eye towards saving what I knew would be precious seconds. NONE of this worked despite my having checked it in advance at least 3 times. In sum this "launch" had nothing to do with service to the customer. Perhaps it was Ahredts putting her imprimatur on the activity as some new hires are known to do. Perhaps it was something of an elitist direction. I can only speculate on the reason, but one thing is clear this was a cluster---- of epic proportions. To a person, everyone I have spoken with preferred the line queue....it felt fair, was familiar and would likely have gotten the product in the hands of the LOYAL customer more quickly rather than some fashionista at Maxfield. Apple should thank Heaven that the watch is so compelling that it transcends the mess the delivery channel has created.

----------

Apple Insider reported that Angela Ahrendts was the top female executive in terms of pay this year in the U.S. the insanity is REAL!

I was strongly considering buying an Apple Watch until I saw the delivery dates. I want a space gray sport watch, but it won't deliver until July! It sounds like it would be great for summer, but 2 months is a long time to wait. Also, the space gray is only available with the black sport band. If I want a different color I apparently have to pay another $50. Apple isn't doing a good job with this product launch, and I might not even buy one now

My credit card was charged yesterday and it now says Preparing for Shipment (42mm SS with Black Classic Buckle). initially, it was set to be shipped 5/13-5/17, ordered on 4/10 around 2:30am PT

Wifey's 38mm, melanese ordered on 4/24 for delivery on May20-28th, still no movements.

Have you had a status change on your wife's Milanese loop? I ordered one around the same time so just curious. Thanks!

Getting it tomorrow

42mm SS with Milanese Loop ordered 3:12a on launch day. Had May 13-27 as the window.

Got the notification it is shipping a few hours ago with an estimated delivery of tomorrow!

Yes the dates are longer than other product launches Apple has done. A couple of friends buy absolutely everything Apple, and have been doing so for ages.

One is a rather obsessive statistician, who has run the numbers over and over, his prediction is delivery will occur between the 8th and 12th of August. He's also waiting for his order. Having made so many surprisingly accurate predictions during other Apple product launches we've all decided to accept that date, relax and wait. In the rare event it's earlier then that will simply be a bonus.

Also, the space gray is only available with the black sport band. If I want a different color I apparently have to pay another $50. Apple isn't doing a good job with this product launch, and I might not even buy one now

I think Apple has grown as a company, they've changed, becoming more relaxed and eliminating the sense of urgency so as to reduce the high levels of stress placed on them.

The customers will wait, they have no choice and Apple is fully aware of that. It'll all become the new normal over time.

Apple holding back manufacturing just in case it flops.

They are basically just testing the water with preorders. Check market reception and feedback. Then ramp up production if it goes over a certain number.

Finally

42mm SS bsb ordered at 0315 on 10 April delivered on 5/10/15. Original estimate was 13-27 May. So, one week early. Not bad.

Can someone please explain how I got my Apple Care agreement today (which includes a hardware serial number) if in theory my watch has not even been created yet???
