My 4/24 - 5/8 order must have been delivered to someone else, oh wait it was.

42mm Stainless Steel with Milanese Loop, order confirmed by Apple 4/10 @ 3:08am EDT. No update from Apple Whatsoever, however I sit here watching these very models ordered minutes to hours later, going to others throughout the world, and some are even moving within 2 hours distance from me in Harrisburg PA.

I never recall an Apple pre-order taking so long to fulfill and be so oddly dispersed. So much for the 1st come 1st served customer service mantra.

Same with my 42mm SS with LB. No movement at all.

Yay.... I'm not alone waiting for my 38mm...

ok,,, so its just a coincidence that the taptic feedback engine in the 42mm only was the reason for the hold up, and the 38mm was just anyones 'guess' (probably for the same reason), but no one knows that since reports are only mention the 42mm held up for this defect.

This mystery gets more interesting by the second..... :apple:

If is all the same guts inside anyway, no better engine or anything, then why limited supply for one but not the other ? its thee same hardware, only smaller.... its not like different components, (which i could understand for the hold up)

Makes sense to me. And the headline of the article is misleading. It makes it sound like it is all orders, not just new ones.

Mine still has a June shipping date.

Yep. Got me too. First thing I did was login to see if it changed.

Finally

My 42mm SS BSB that was ordered at 12:02am FINALLY changed to "Preparing for Shipment". Yes, I know it's still in the time frame of 4/24-5/8, but come on already!!

Could be sooner if people start canceling their pre-orders because of believing the Apple Watch has crown issues.

Good job Tim Cook.

All that time worrying about what Indiana is doing is working wonders for quality and logistics at Apple.

what nonsense. weighing in on the hate displayed by a few rogue state governments has nothing to do w/ the watch. further, there is no quality or logistics problem with the watch -- it's a massive success and an amazing accomplishment.

----------

Or even that were now in May and it's taking an estimated 2 months for them to arrive?

incorrect. we're in may and i got mine last month. they've arrived. that there isn't enough of them doesn't change that fact.

Got my 42mm SS BSB yesterday. Has anyone received a 42mm SS with link bracelet yet? From everything I know, none of those have shipped yet.

Right on! If you you don't mind me asking, what time did you receive your confirmation email?

Leather Loop Strap

Has anybody taken delivery of a 42mm case watch with the leather loop strap ? I ordered mine 1 minute after the store went live here in the UK and I'm still wait and have a delivery date showing as between 12 May to 26 May. I wondered if it was a double whammy of the actual watch and strap shortages delaying my delivery ?

I feel like I haven't seen anyone post that they recieved a 42mm SS with BSB either. I still have a 5/13-5/24 ship date. Has anyone seen any of those floating around or recieved one?

Mine did.

Ordered at 3:06 AM April 10

Arrived 3:30 PM April 29.

Yeah I asked the same question. I ordered the black leather loop 5 minutes after going on sale and wanted to see if anyone else has received one. I can't find any information about other people getting their leather loop watch or band yet. Mine still says its processing here in the U.S. My delivery says April 29 - May 12.

My Pebble Time Steel should arrive by then... since I have to wait, maybe I should get both? The more I see Apple Watch, the more I want one.

I have to disagree with this. Apple set a precendent themselves, that if you ordered within the first hour, you got your product on launch day.

They also said April 24th was launch day. Never said 4/25-May. This was after the fact, after a few months of proudly touting 24th.

Apple drop the ball, severely. its no big deal in the grand scheme of things. But this launch was a disaster. If samsung did this, this board would be through the roof

I hate to admit it, but he has a point here. This launch as been a mess for sure.

I thought about it and was annoyed at first. But then it dawned on me, Apple might've built all the units with faulty parts, and dissecting and preserving the good parts may be causing delays-they have to get to that faulty engine and make sure the unit works. This might mean, lots to scrap, especially if they're separated by factory as well.

The unit doesn't seem modular in the slightest. And this could be why. Steel ones are in short supply as they got the faulty engines at first.

The new MacBook. At least the watches are in store to look at and play with. Most stores just barely started getting demo units in the US and forget trying to buy one at an Apple store even though its been "available" since April 10th. Apple stores still have no clue when they will have stock to sell. The watch launch is a huge success compared to the MacBook.

Some apple stores do have MacBook stock. I was at one this morning in Austin texas. The website shows ship to store but they had some stock.

Then thats one of the VERY few. Literally like a handful of Apple stores in the world have them for sale right now and they only have a few.

I would love to buy one right now but I prefer to walk in a store and get instant satisfaction and the drive home to open the box. That s the only reason I don t have one now.
Until they are available for sale in the store then I wont need/want one

As for the next version, I doubt it will be 2017 as Apple has alreay be working on the next version from some time. It is the Health app and new sensors that will differenciate Apple from its competitors, 2 years in tech is an eternity. If Apple could manage a new technique to approximate blood sugar then they could afford to wait 2 years but not until then. O2 sat is great but health data and being able to monitor patients or familly from a distance via their watch (an elderly parent for example) is a massive market

BTW most 38mm versions now ship in 2-3 weeks...So maybe they are working hard or most people ordered the 42mm models.

Might be worth waiting for....

I know a gentleman who just got his 42mm SS with classic black buckle band...I don't know if it's worth waiting till July to get but, damn, that is one sexy accessory! (and, yes, I'm female).

Seriously! I can't speak for the sports Watches, and I know there've been all kinds of complaints that the Watch is bulky, ugly, and whatever. But when I saw this SS Watch with it's classic black band on an actual man's wrist (rather than in a photo)—with the solar face in case you're interested—All I could think was, Wow. Elegant, handsome. Meaning the Watch is both, and somehow it made the man wearing it both, too.

And even though you notice it, it seems to be a part of the wearer, not ostentatious jewelry or an electronic gadget. Which, IMHO, means that Apple has succeeded in this at least. Whatever the Watch's success or failures as a piece of technology, it is a very fine fashion accessory. I don't know if every Apple Watch will do this for every guy, but it certainly made this one look cool and classy.

I haven't noticed any SS 42mm with the SS link bracelets ordered mine on April 10th est delivery 4-6 weeks no change. Range May 13-27. Many on the link thread haven't not received them either. Although my wife has gotten her 38mm SS With Black sports band. Hoping to see some movement on SS link bands wage models.
