Unless you have the developers edition, you are in the same boat as everyone else. Fortunately, if you are on TMobile, you are in luck. No more waiting.

If I wear my glasses, it is a great phone for me. But I don't wear glasses all the time, so the Lumia 1520 is a necessity.
That said, the Moto X feels really, really nice in the hand. Extremely easy to use one handed (for me). And you are right, I think Apple would have a perfectly sized iPhone if it were these dimensions (and the curved the back and sides a bit, so it doesnt feel like a brick digging into your hand.)

how? my moto x just keeps draining battery like it's job, it'll be down to 10% with only around 12 hours on battery, its on wifi as much as possible and well i turn off bluetooth when I'm not in the car, wifi when I'm not around it, always kill my apps, it just keeps constantly draining and gets especially warm when its on wifi, i just can't stop the battery drain and the brightness is at 25-30% auto brightness off, it just will not stop draining insanely fast.

Update to 4.4.2 if you have an unlocked gsm version. I'm currently at 84% battery, with 4.5 hours on this charge and 1 hour of screen in time. Been on WiFi the whole time though. No LTE.
For those of you who have the the Moto X since it came out, how has the camera improved on it? I know the camera app has been updated and is now available in the app store but how's it in everyday usage?

Bought this for the wife to replace her iPhone 5. She was getting tired of some home button issues with the iPhone, even after I had the home button replaced. I've got a Note 3 and jumped at the chance to move her to the Android world.
Honestly? I don't like the Moto X much at all.
Feels like a toy.
Battery has been atrocious. By the time she gets into her car to leave work, the battery is dead and she barely touches the damned thing while at work.
Camera is a joke.
It's saving grace seems to be the "Ok Google Now" voice activation even when the screen is turned off; as well as the Active Notifications.
Debating now whether to keep it and sell the iPhone 5 or to return the Moto X. No use asking for advice in a biased forum like this, just venting. 🙁

Odd, my moto x has had great battery life. I'm not a power user, so that may be why, but I get at least 13 to 14 hours before I need to worry about charging.

I spend a lot of my time in and out of buildings with poor reception and that will absolutely destroy battery life. But on a normal day I can get through a full 12 hours of usage no problem. And I'd have to say our iPhone 5 feels a lot more toyish than my moto x due to how light it is.

Of course it "feels like a toy" compared to the Note 3, it's TINY compared to that phone. The entire Moto X device is as big as just the screen on the Note 3. Compared to other devices, I think the build quality is on par with the original Motorola Droid (which I thought was pretty darn good) and MILES ahead of my HTC Thunderbolt.
Signal strength plays A LOT into the life of the battery. Signal in my office is DREADFUL, fortunately we have an open guest network that I can hop on so it's not constantly searching for data service. Even still, I can go half the day in the office on guest and the other half attempting to get cellular data and I still have enough juice to get through the evening at home. Also a light user. Also as a light user, I can make it through the weekend on a single charge.
As for the camera, it's serviceable and takes some nice pictures in good outdoor light, if I want good pictures I'll grab my Canon EOS-M (mirrorless DSLR).
Like the others on this thread, I have to disagree. On a regular day at work with cellular network always on in a low reception area, I get a full days use. When I get home, I usually hover around 48% to 55%. I'm on it the whole time I'm taking transit to work and on and off throughout the day because of emails and Whatsapp.
I'm thinking if I turn off the cellular network and use the wifi, I may get 2 full days without recharging. You may need to get your unit examined/replaced.
I don't have any widgets, but I always have cellular data on. I have brightness set to auto. And location on for assist and Touchless Controls.
Ditto. If I want good pictures, I'd grab my digital camera. We all bought the moto x knowing its picture taking limitations.
On a side note, how can the EOS-M be both mirrorless and single lens reflex? Did you mean ILC (Interchangable Lens Camera) or CSC (Compact System Camera)?

I do agree with you on the camera. It def could be better. I was taking some indoor pics and some of them came out all blue in color? Don't have any idea why.
The battery falls into the 'okay to good' category simply because of the active listening and active notifications eating away at a small battery. I think Motorola did well to get the life we see from it. Compared to my Lumia 1520 though, yeah, the battery life sucks. But compared to the 1520, the battery life on the Note 3 sucks. 😉
All said though, I think the Moto X is my favorite phone I have owned since the original Motorola Razr v3 flip phone back in 06. 😀

Yeah, it's an ILC. Sometimes it's easier to just say DSLR so people can imagine it close to what it is.

As much as I like the Moto x, I am thinking of going back to the iPhone. Couple things I went to android for are now in ios and I have a large catalog of apps and I do not have another camera atm. That and my family has iphones, so imessage is just easier to deal with. That and facetime audio only is a good option atm

Just got my X last week after being on a 4s for the past 2 years. Last droid i owned was Droid X, things have changed a lot since then lol.
Battery life was oddly short at first, and I figured out that the my fitness pal app was draining the battery, oddly enough. Anyway, glad to be part of the club now, this is a sweet phone.
