This reminds me of those stupid iPhone mockups in 2006. They were just iPods with phone features shoehorned onto them. No way this car is going to look like an iPhone, or have a damn squircle for a steering wheel! This is one of the ugliest car mockups I've ever seen. What big car or oil company paid for these mockups and story? This is slander! Or I guess libel.

Being good at industrial design is understanding who the object is for, what it's supposed to do, and how to make it all come together as aesthetically pleasing as possible. These mockups are an abomination. There are car guys at Apple, such as Phil Schiller, that would never let something like this fly. Just look at Steve's car:

Apple wants people to think their products are cool. This mockup does not look cool. The Apple car will DEFINITELY look cool.

Yeah, no. I really don't think the man who drives one of these is going to design something so hideous looking.

Yeah, this is most likely the project that Jony moved on from daily management to go work on. He loves fancy cars with classic lines. There's no way it's going to look like a space go-kart.

Oh s***, I just noticed the plus/minus for the pedals. Just kill me, this is literally worse than Hitler.

The design's so ugly and bad that I wonder if Apple can sue over their logo being shown. Sure it's speculative and not a real product, but there is still some possibility for customer confusion based on the branding.

Looks ridiculous. No one would buy that thing even with an Apple logo on it.

It's clear Apple will not make a car that looks anything like that.

Motor Trend either has a low bar or no imagination for an automotive enthusiast magazine.

It's not just Motor Trend, the entire automotive industry (except perhaps the super luxury brands) have had no imagination, style or taste for decades.

They pump out the same crap with only minor tweaks every couple of years and try to pass them off as major new versions (with extra gadgetry or gimmickry which you mostly have to pay for anyway).

Sound familiar? Maybe auto isn't so different for Apple after all!

The other thing is that this car looks really sterile and uncomfortable inside with all the metal and glass everywhere. It also looks like a big safety hazard. Can Apple send cease and desist letters to them for using their logo all over this pile of horse crap??
