This phone looks very Apple like in my opinion and I would love to have something like this in my pocket. Although its not a Moto phone the Pebl V6 which looks like a clear winner considering signature Apple design. Especially if they make it in white or brushed aluminum. ;)

Personally, I've been hoping the Apple-Moto deal would create a phone with full synching capabilities that looks something like the RAZR. The bluetooth synching problem, as I understand it, is due to the service providers insisting that the synching capability be disabled. Verizon, for example, has stated clearly that they do NOT support this capability (http://www.petitiononline.com/ver123/petition.html). That's a shame.

Fortunately, my Sony-Ericsson T616 synchs just fine over bluetooth (I use Cingular/AT&T). I'd just like to find a service provider that supports full bluetooth synching AND provides an affordable Internet access plan (which AT&T/Cingular does not). And, that would allow me to use a cool new Apple-enhanced phone. :(

I don't see why it makes any difference to the service provider. Here in the UK you can have a Sony Ericsson phone from any company and Bluetooth sync works just fine. I suspect it's more a case that some phone manufacturers haven't bothered including Mac compatibility - you can bet their phones sync happily with Windows machines!

Cool! That means the RAZOR is not out of the question. I mean, why not? It's the most expensive phone, and expensive has always gone hand in hand with Apple (until the Shuffle and Mac Mini that is).

ROKR

actually, there's more than a hunch that the first iTunes compatible phone will be the ROKR. The name's just surfacing and the level of secrecy they've shrouded the iTunes phone in might lead one to say that the interface and design will be kick-ass. Possibly with an iPod add-on feature that will circumvent the limitations of limited flash storage. This seems a sensible bet.

Switch to T-Mobile.

I pay $5 per month for internet on my phone, and any SE phone with bluetooth will sync correctly for sure, other brands, too. My P800 sync'd perfectly, as does my new K700i.

I find it a bit weird that suggestions are it has a HDD (ipod mini anyone) and that it will only be able to have a limited number of songs...

It's not so weird for the ROKR to be an add-on to the new mini. Many cellphones are now used with headphones. It's the most logical way of leveraging iTunes(store and jukebox), storage (5 or 6GB HDD), features (phone, which can be used without the ipod) and design (ipod mini and RAZR). I'm sure they've considered this at Moto and Apple. This would sell iPod minis and the Motorola phone like hotcakes. Think about it, the RAZR sold one million handsets, the mini twice or three times as many.

This iTunes Phone stuff is really boring.

These rumors are really boring and I don't see why anyone finds them interesting. It's not, I repeat, NOT an Apple labelled phone with super nice Apple styling. It's just a Motorola phone (which normally stink anyway and have a crap interface) that will be able to play MP3's, AAC and Apple's fairplay DRM'ed AAC's. Big wow.

I can play MP3's and AAC's on my Sony S700i, which also syncs wonderfully over bluetooth and lets me remote control iTunes or the mouse. It'll only take a maximum memory of 128Mb but to be honest I use my iPod for portable music so I dont care.

So can someone please tell me why this whole 'Moto-Apple-iTunes-Phone' thing is at all interesting in any way?

Cheers,

V6 PEBL *IS* a Motorola phone

Just want to say that the V6 is indeed a Motorola phone; it even says that on the page that you link to. The earlier link is not a MOT phone, but the PEBL definitely is.
