Cellcom

Cellcom is a CDMA carrier...so I guess that means Verizon here in the States.

I don't know why so many people hate it, I think it looks pretty nice. It sort of has a professional flair to it. It actually reminds me of a Powerbook with the silver keys on the silver body.

Kind of sick of this......

Yeah it's really frustrating to hear people complaining about the esthetics of this phone. Apple did not design the handset in question here....Like someone else said: hopefully the iTunes mobile application itself will be available on a number of different phones. This is not the elusive "iPhone"....http://www.xnodesign.com/images/iphone5.jpg. Neither is this!

100% agree with you. the other phone was... IS uninspired.

Yep - even though I didn't mind it, the other phoned screamed out Motorola to me, whereas this one screams out Apple - and guess which one I think is better to be at the end of the day... ;)

I can confirm the E790 as I saw it at a cellco yesterday, there was no Flash Card and the iTunes app wouldn't load (probably needs the flash). There was only one slot for flash memory.
In effect I think the E790 is just a E398 with the extra iTunes button and software. Same (crummy) phone OS as the razr v3, so chance of me moving from Nokia for this handset :)

PEBL Anyone

I think the only good news - if it is news (maybe it was the voices in my head). Is that Moto was supposed to put iTunes on several of it's phones, and the mockup shown on this thread looks an awful lot like the PEBL, and the PEBL does seem to have some sort of 'wheel' like interface on it as well. So - Maybe, just maybe the PEBL will support iTunes as well? It is due out Second half, and I believe it has EDGE support, which could possibly handle downloading a song or two?

If anyone else can support these wishes of mine with any sort of fact, I'd appreciate it, because this candy-bar thing is ugly, disappointing... etc...

zzzzzzz...z...[snort]

i don't "hate" the Moto phone, it's just SO freakin' boring. what's exciting about it? the style looks like half the candybar phones out there. it play itunes? yay, so does my ipod & about 5 dozen phones on the market play music.

i do like the mockups posted earlier in this thread. at least that one has a style of it's own (although similar to the PEBL, that's not bad though).

i hope the "event" isn't for this snoozer...

Again, motorola isn't iPhone

Guess everytime it will need to be repeated when we have a thread about iTunes on a phone. The Motorola deal is about iTunes, yes just the music service, on a few of their models. That's just all. It has been repeatedly stated that, if there were an iPhone, that thing has nothing to do with Motorola. (They may produce it for Apple, but even that's not for sure).
I don't understand all the negativity here on this Moto attempt. You may not want it, just don't buy it. But it will bring Apple to a better position to compete with the providers that will launch their own music service. And that is important for long term success. If you want an iPhone, and you don't want just the music service, don't buy the phone. And stop being negative, because this thread did not start with 'Here's the iPhone'. Two seperate things. Just wait on the iPhone. There may be one, there may not be one. Ok, now the bitching is over to some of you, can anyone confirm the media event that suppossedly happens on July 7th, is really happening?

Sorry, Speleoterra, just saw your post on the previous page (I am reading backwards) and saw your gripes on this. Guess it has to be repeated over and over again :)

MarcelV..thanks for the edit. (i read post backwards too)
I was thinkin'...."this guy just repeated; my stomp on everyone?"
well said though,.....again.

July 7th? Easy...
Apple will probably announce their loss of virginity to the internet.
Becoming a powerhouse of global connectivity for aligned companies.
Connexion by Boeing flies on July 19th, this is a BIG deal for Apple.
They'll go from a niche computer company to a internet/media distribution gorilla corporation while Stevie wipes his sweaty sack on Bill's geeky glasses.
"Uhhh,....Mr.Balmer, my glass are fogging up, what's going on?" -Bill
"Uhhh,Boss....Apple just made history,.....again" -Balmer

well guys, this is a CDMA 2000 named "Penck", from a Japanese Carrier au, under the au design project. its design, texture and sounds are perfect, and have QVGA display and mini SD slot.
you may find it at http://www.au.kddi.com/au_design_project/index.html

however, I don't think Apple would "Copy" this one. If yes, I would be extremely happy to get one in any cost.
CDMA 2000 are not avaliable for Eurpoean countries and some Asia countries....

Man, the US is WAY behind in cell phone design/tech. I HATE that our carriers can't just put out something that customers can lust for. Don't they WANT us to buy super hot, super expensive phones?

I think having iTunes in a phone is a waste. Why would you be so desperate to listen to music on a phone? Leave it to the iPod for the music.

Why do you want to carry both phone and ipod? I would love to carry one device that can do both in my pocket...

Nice but....
"IF" Apple did release a phone, it probably wouldn't look like that.
That LOOKS like a cell phone, as cool as it is.
We should expect something different like this.
Satellite/broadband phone•OS X/Newton capabilities•iTunes•iSync•Bluetooth•on-screen keyboard
its not a phone > its not a PDA > how 'bout "Personal Utility Device" iPud.
ha!
:D

It might just be an engineering or a production sample, and we can’t guarantee whether this will actually be the first iTunes phone or not, but we do know that we’re looking at a pearly white E790 and that synchronizes with iTunes 4.9

When did the color silver start looking pearly white?
